Thought I had posted this before but searched and didn't find it. Sometime last year at a show I saw a mid 60s Skylark convertible with a two piece boot. One piece slid into the channel behind the rear seat. It had a velcro flap that ran the width of the channel and the front of the boot had a velcro strip to attach. I spoke with the owner, he thought it was original but it was on the car when he bought it and he didn't know anything about it's origin. He said he had no problems with it staying attached on the highway. Unfortunately I didn't think to gat a picture. Anyone know if something like this would be available for a 1970?

From what I remember there were only 2 different boots available for the 68 cars.

The majority came with a series of snaps, that were affixed to the boot, and snapped onto the chrome pieces along the back of the boot.

I have heard late 68’s came with the other design, which is like the 69-72 boots, they do not use the clips, but have a plastic piece sewn to the boot that slides under the chrome pieces.

    I have never heard of a two-piece top boot for a 68 a-body.
