Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... My wife, Gayle's Sister Sandy's husband, Glenn, has been feeling sick all too often lately. He is 75 and still works at the Catholic church and school in Wayland, MI doing maintenance. He has been to doctors for tests. Today, Gayle got the call from Sandy that no one likes to make or receive. Glenn has lung cancer and it's aggressive. Glenn's the kind of guy everyone loves. One of the first to help in a time of need. He was a best man at our wedding. Please keep Glenn & Sandy in your prayers. Thank You.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... We shall pray for him tonight......he is lucky to have you in his family.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... Thank You. We went to our usual Thursday dinner with Glenn, Sandy and the rest of my wife's siblings. We just visited and enjoyed everyone's company as usual. He is handling this much better than I think I could. He has never liked being fussed over and wants to be treated as normal. It's hard to do, knowing he is ill. I know I want to spend as much time with him as time allows. And listen to him whenever he wishes to talk about it.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... J.R. Willis, Thank You for the comforting words of wisdom and encouragement that you sent. It means a lot. God Bless You & Yours.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... Sorry about your brother in law. I lost my brother in law and was the best man at the wedding. Sometimes when people are down little things can make someone's day. I work for NBC on a tv show and I'd be happy to send him a t-shirt and a prayer. It might make his day. Pm me and I'll get his info and send it out. God bless.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... Thank You for your generous offer. I'll send a PM with his name, address, etc.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... Jerry, we will offer up prayers as well. Cancer sucks, no matter the kind. Please tell him that there are lots of folks who care.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... Thank You. We met up for our weekly family dinner. Glenn was his usual self. I can tell that he is getting a bit weaker, but he doesn't want any fuss and anyone who doesn't know that he has cancer would never guess. He's a stronger man than I think I could be.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... Glenn has been to a lot of doctor appointments. They will be doing radiation therapy starting Dec. 3rd. That will be followed by chemo. They make a mold of his upper back and he had to endure 45 minutes with his arms over his head. We are just grateful that Glenn has switched hospitals (Spectrum Health) to the compassionate and aggressive (against the cancer) doctors and caregivers he has now. My wife and I will be spending Thanksgiving with Glenn & Sandy. Their Daughter & fiance are cooking the turkey. I pray this is not the last Thanksgiving we can celebrate with Glenn. Thank You, Paul for the gifts that Glenn really enjoyed. I'd love for him to meet you. Thank You All for Your continued prayers. God Bless All my Friends here.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... Update: Glenn has been receiving chemo and radiation. He was losing his hair so Sandy shaved his head. He has his days when he doesn't feel good. He does take long naps. We know he has his 'moments of anger', mostly from frustration of not being able to do all he used to, but generally he still has a good attitude. Thank You all for your continued support and prayers.
Re: Our Brother-in-Law, Glenn.......... Jerry, Tell Glen we are sending our Best Heart Felt Wishes and Good Brotherly Vibes so that he will know he has many behind him wishing him well so that he will beat this terrible disease. God Bless him and his Family. Bill
Couldn't find my original post. As many of you know, my wife's Sister's husband, Glenn was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. he has been receiving treatments and was doing better. He did have severe shortness of breath just walking short distance. Last week, he had an issue with his lower lip "tinkling" as if asleep. He went to the ER on Saturday. They admitted him immediately. They ran an MRI which showed 5 small spots on his brain. The largest being about the size of the end of your pinky finger. They will start treatments Monday. I was there, today, when the doctor gave Glenn the diagnosis. He took it better than I think I ever could. My Sis-in-Law (his wife) showed up afterwards. I stayed just a short while after, then left so they could be alone to talk. Glenn is the best Bro anyone could ask for. Please keep them both in your prayers. Thank You.
