No GSX's from Buick Mart in Bellflower or Cerritos CA?
Think they moved to Cerritos in the early 80's

Another Zone 79 addition. 79-200 was Matson (Navigation Co.) located at 77th Street Terminal.

Schuman Carriage was at Beretania St location 1961-2004 (closed Nov '04)

Seatrain west coast to Hawaii 1969-1974 (taken over by Matson in '74), and I have address as 1395 not 1305...

Anyone by chance know anything about 02-627 (Bruce Buick). Shows two entries - Same Dealer #. One in Glenn Falls, NY (late 60's) and one in Yonkers, NY (early '70's). About 150 miles apart so I assume they moved.

I haven’t yet ascertained how exactly GM policy was RE dealer changes (name, owner, location). Those were the ‘big 3’ reasons a dealer code changed. I believe it’s possible that the same name/owner could move to a different address in a small town and retain their code -not positive there- but I would lay money down that a different zip code would mandate a code change.
Working on a Pontiac dealer list and am currently a few dozen away from 8000 dealers, with about 4500 coded.

Seemed odd to me too that a dealer would move that far and retain the same info. Maybe the Yonkers info isn't correct.

'All' the codes were not changed at any point, no.
As for zones; with Pontiac at least, around 1980 some zones were eliminated by folding those dealers into other zones. A contraction. This would have coincided with a steady decline in the number of dealers, as the tiny garage/Buick dealer became less & less common in favor of larger stores. I can't see a reason for a zone to have been added, but who knows.

Hey Mark! Not sure if you are still updating the list of past Buick dealerships, but here’s one I didn’t see on the list. The former Paschall Motor Co. 820 West St. Grinnell, IA 50112, dealer code 10-902 was sold in 1981, after the owner Jim Paschall died suddenly. It was bought by Mike Thorndike and Jean Nolte. Thorndike Motors, Inc. Buick-Pontiac-GMC. My dad and I both worked there until the 3 francises were sold to Wes Finch Auto Plaza in 1993, which is still in business today. I went to work for them for 13 years. Thanks for your tedious work on this list. Much appreciated sir!.. Lars

It was White Plains. My mistake - Yonkers is very nearby. My car would've been sold there in May/June, 1970 so in Glens Falls. Wayne Roberts report showed it as not being a special ordered car but there's no way - It a very oddly optioned car and we know there was at least one other clerical error (didn't show the painted top which Wayne surmised meant that Buick never invoiced the dealer for it).

Hi Mark, Dealer 21-113 in Terrell TX is Don Moore, not Don Monroe. My car was delivered there and it's on my build sheet + Sloan.

Thanks to all for the information given over the last few years. I will try to get updates done this year. I have additional dealers codes from original documents I also need to do but it is a tedious process adding them to the list.

I am guessing there are typos. Both in the what I typed in and what was in the list. I will modify them as they are identified.

    Mark
