I had some time today and slammed the driver side bushings in. They were toast too. Not as bad as I thought. I was able to get the intermediate shaft out of the way without lifting the engine
Shes all ready for the beaver springs show! Thats it.....the only thing I'm doing the rest of the week is detailing it and loading it in the trailer.
Back home safe and sound. 508 is back in the garage. Big thanks to John Csordas for putting on the event and Carl Rychlik for arranging the car show. 508 got a second place and a $75 prize! It was a hot weekend. Like Africa hot!
Great to see you Jason. Congratulations on a beautiful car you can drive and thank you for sharing it with us.
Good to meet you too! I had a good time tslking to you. One day I'll actually be a south Florida guy! Lol
Drilling down on the nitty gritty. Frank St Elmo took a look at 508 when we were at Beaver Springs. I wanted another set of eyes just to make sure I didn't overlook anything. I'm happy to say he didn't find too much out of place. He didn't point out the incorrect washer pump connector, the no rc29 cap and my non original ported vacuum switch. We also had a discussion on original batteries and battery toppers. I never realized the delco eyes are supposed to be dark when charged and green when low. J had it backwards in my head. Anyway, managed to knock two things off the list-
I've made a decision about the bucket seats. As you know the seat bottoms are split. I spoke to my upholstery guy and he says he can just replace the inserts for me and save the rest of the bottom cover. Its important to save and reuse as much of the original cover as humanly possible He took out an old catalog, looked up the basketweave vinyl Buick used and told me to order "L-3911" from SMS. Called them today and was pleasantly surprised they told me 2 weeks to ship! Ordered one yard and it was 129 shipped.
A few little items added. Car was missing the engine lift hook and the dashpot/ bracket. The parts dept just happened to have both items in stock. Also in view is my -20 point repainted engine And I broke out the manifold gauges and vacuum pump. The ac is sucked down to 30 inches. Now to see if we have any leaks
