All pieces painted. Started buffing the lower half of the doors, hood & trunk lid. Figured it might be easier to do these pieces while still off the car & on a work surface.
Still buying a few small trim clips/ misc. fasteners.
Bodyman is by himself now & needs a hand hanging the doors, hood & trunk on my own car + the '64 Vette convertible. The Vette is now painted a nice red. For every 10 vintage cars he paints, 5-6 are red. The '66 Coupe will be silver, as new.
He & I should be able to get on the same page & assemble both the cars this week. My work schedule doesn't always agree with his. +9 deg. C here today, sunshining & birds singing in the trees. Spring is here.
    I ordered a set of 5 - 15 X 7 wheels from McWheels. Shipping next week. I will be going with either 245-60-15 or 255-60-15 TA's.

Two doors & two fenders hung. Still need to look at the RH side fender/door clearance & alignment.
Gets frustrating & we just left it for another day. Go back in fresh & we'll have it done in 5 minutes.
Got the two doors & trunk of the '64 Vette on also. This is a nice car.

Finally assembled. Still a bit more tweeking to do here & there.
Repainted the trunk over the weekend.
Wet-sand/polish about 50%. Front bumper & RH door panel to install.
Chrome/stainless - once the buffing is done.

Looks like I'll be driving the car back home tomorrow. Wetsand/polish really pays off. Very pleased with the results!

My new 15 X 7 wheels & 245/60R15 TA's are in, just not on the car yet.
    I'm taking off a set of 225/70R14.
    MAN......... those tires are big.

the 245's do look big but the handling difference between the 225r70 vs the 245r60 is like night and day. the 245's nicely fill all that space under the wheel wells.
when i purchased my gs, the previous owner had installed a set of 275r50x15 bfg t/a on trans/am rims. now those tires were big - 9.5" of rubber on the ground. the gs looked like a race, going down the road.

Car home Friday night. Got the new tires on this morning.
Wheel wells are now quite full. 15 X 7 stock BS, 245/60R15.
Quite a difference from the 225/70R14's I took off.

255r60x15 on 15x7 rims will also fit within those wheelwells. i stayed with 245r60
i sold the original rallye rims (14x6) + 225r70 bfg to a fellow in london ont. got $140 for all. my wife just wanted them out of the basement. i kept the wheel centres (black) and eventually sold them and one other set for over $100. i gave a local fellow member another a 3rd set for his car ("spirit of america") that he was restoring.

I currently have 8 - 14 X 6 wheels available, all with Firestone FR480 RWL tires, 225/70R14. No further use & I will try to sell locally.
