My GS is going on a diet,I already have the hood amd rear bumper…I’ve cut some sheet metal out of inconspicuous areas amd plan on some other stuff down the road .
I could stand to drop some weight too. lol
Looks I’ve found all the pieces to the puzzle, now on to the engine(it’s in machine shop jail)

...as far as that last sentence goes...speaking from experience it's easier to just make more power. Lol

I know right. The motor is apart now so I’m scheming a little. Lol

Just wondering about the chrome. Spray or dip? And how is it holding up? I've heard mixed reviews on chroming glass bumpers.

My brother and I have debated this for a while. Seen a few spray chrome that looked good but a few that had yellowed as well. I've seen one that was chrome wrapped and it looked pretty good.
I think we are going to do a carbon fiber wrap.

A friend and I had 2 bumpers done, one for his racecar and 1 for my streetcar. He is at PRI and won't be back till next week. So I don't have any pictures.

If you have not done so a place to loose a bunch of weight is the brakes. Go to a light weight brake setup front and rear such as Aerospace. Also light weight seats another big saver.

So true. Also the wheels too. That's a big one as well as it is unsprung weight along with the brakes.

Anyone making fabbed radiator supports out of aluminum? How about head light bezels with a 3D printer? Fiberglass front wheel wells?
You have to make a hunch of power with a Buick because it’s like hot-rodding a Sherman tank. Good thing the power can be made.

If your car isn’t finished, you can cut the door beams out. Some people with plasma cutters will go nuts inside, carving holes and slots in all of the window mechanisms and whatever else.

Chromoly tube trans cross member, fabbed core support. Lightweight bumper brackets. This was our core support.

I'm sorry. Those are long gone and were for a 69. I was only posting those for ideas for you to save weight. Although I had a local guy do them based off the factory brackets and didn't cost much at all.
Steve Reynolds was making aluminum bumper brackets for sale a while back so maybe get with him.
    Sorry for the misunderstanding.
