Woke up to an alert on my phone saying it detected someone on the garage cam.

Second time this A$*hat has lurked around my cars.

Other camera catches him doing the same to my neighbors and actually getting into one of the cars. luckily no one left anything in their cars or anything worth taking.

A couple of months ago someone in a car passed by breaking atleast 10 car windows snatching up things, unfortunately my brother's car got his window broken even though there was nothing in it, might be the same people.

Guy must be local, did a drive around the block and saw a guy with the same sweater minus the hat (hoodie up now) go into a house with a bag. he got jumpy too. Was too dark to be sure. There's not much we can really do as much as I would love to catch them in the act, not worth it. Just annoying people resort to this especially since he doesn't look like he is in need rocking that little gold chain of his.

I have my 67 GS in the garage on stands since im working on it and can't put my hellcat or 70 in at the moment. I think I need to build a fence, at least it slows them if they rather go for the easier to get to cars/ houses.

Welp no much I can do but take other precautions to deter would be theives.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

Set some 12 gauge rounds on the car's roofs in plain sight or better yet the door handles if they'll stay. He'll get the point.

Had it happen to my wife's car where they smashed the window and stole less than 2 dollars in change. I was mad at her cause I told he not to do it many times. They never even touched the stuff in the trunk. Druggies will do it just for the quick cash. Don't always take items to sell.

Next time you see the scum bag on your camera quietly open your door with your shotgun start loading I guarantee you you’ll never see him again and if you do you know he has a death wish. They know they can run wild and no one‘s going to do anything about it.

A couple years back, one of my neighbors caught someone breaking into his car, the theif got jumpy and shot at my neighbor, ran towards a park in at the corner near my house, while my neighbor fired off a couple of rounds of his own.

Unfortunately my 2008 mustang @ the time, got hit.

    20150410_140139_HDR.jpg

    lucky but unlucky.

Lucky that the bullet didn't go into a home, and lucky it hit the crease and didn't penetrate.

Unlucky that I had just gotten my car back a week before due to someone shooting out of a shopping center across two lanes straight at my side. The person then hit the gas and ended up on a boulder.

I had just gotten it repaired from getting hit on the side and now I had to file a claim for a bullet hole.

Buy a few fake snakes and place them on the seats. Buy a motion activated sprinkler to soak him, lots you could do....

Could even place snakes on the ground or on top the car(s).

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

Maybe get some empty casings, chalk, crime scene tape and some pig's blood.

Wrap tape around your car, make two or three "body outlines" dribble pig's blood, and scatter a handful of casings around.

I’ve never had the misfortune of getting my car violated like that. I’d like to design a motion sensor system that triggers playback of a recorded sound. Chris Isaak has a song called “Supermagic 3000” where the beginning has large caliber gunshots and ricochets starting the song. It might only work once, but the point would unmistakably get made.

Max Damage I'm working on it!

Since he is trying to get to the car, you could get a camera with higher resolution that is aimed and zoomed to get a better facial image. Then give the video and the image to the cops.

Too bad the car's security (anti-theft) system can't be set to trip the alarm and emergency flashers when a person gets that close to the car. The dude would be leaving fast if he knew he was drawing attention to himself.

As the crime stories became more and more frequent around the neighborhood we decided to move before it came to our porch. I know a lot of people don’t have that option, but I’ll tell you what, it has been so nice to not even have to think about that stuff for the last 20 years.

It’s very easy to become complacent with things and adjust to it as a normal. A short time before we moved I took stock of just how much thought and action required in day-to-day life to stay ‘safe’. Determined it didn’t matter how good I was at covering all the bases, it was just a matter of time before we would get ‘hit’ with some sort of petty theft or vandalism. The thought of the wife or my kids walking into something like that, how sideways and possibly lethal the situation, made the decision. Never regretted it for a moment.....

Been definitely looking for a new location. I would rather my family be safe. Finally got a new position so that should help in the $ department but living in the Bay Area has been super difficult and even with great pay, affordable homes are just not available. You have to make close to 200k a year to come close. Unfortunately things have changed since I was a kid. Housing market is ridiculous but I've been looking at other states and even in other areas in CA. I don't mind a 35 mile commute. There are some decently priced home and ranches out in Hollister. Might have to bear with it a bit until I save up larger amount to make the jump.

Yes that’s what I would do. Leave the door un locked and wait for the alarm... have the door trigger the alarm. have a loaded paint ball gun and go after the guy when you hear it go off... keep a loaded handgun on your belt just in case.
