I have a couple of Battery Tenders for maintenance and one Battery MINDER for reconditioning when I start getting "fair" readings on basic load testing equipment. I used to have a couple more cars here in various states of disuse and they were usually plugged in to something. The Buick battery is now 8 years old with a consistent "good" reading on the load tester and better than 12.5 volts even after sitting for a week unplugged - so I know it doesn't need time on the MINDER. Using the MINDER is best on batteries/vehicles that will be left to sit for long periods as the desulphation process is time consuming. The MINDER comes with an excellent owners manual that reveals much of the voodoo that is in your battery. These three devices are mounted on walls in my garage within cables' reach of the three hosses therein.

I also use the Battery Minder. Have saved at least three batteries with it, and have greatly prolonged the life of several others. I got it for the RV batteries, but works great for the truck too, and my RC flying club lawn tractor. I will put it on each battery for about a month in the winter when those vehicles are parked for the season.

I have a bunch of different brands and all work excellent. Between my cars, motorcycles and RVs I have a bunch of batteries to maintain. The first ones I bought 20 plus years ago were Yuasa 1.5 amp ones. They are a common motorcycle battery supplier. Both our motorcycles and my Buick run this one. My last Buick battery lasted 14 years with the Yuasa minder on it. I have it on all winter and hook it up when I go away for my work shifts. I sometimes hook it up when I am not using the car much when I am at home. Works great and obviously makes the battery last. I also have a couple of 4 amp Ctek ones as well as an 8 amp Ctek and a 8 amp Noco brand. I honestly like the Noco the best but they are all excellent. We also have a Bosch and Noco one at work. I don't think the brand matters a whole lot. Battery minders are great to have and should be on anything that has a battery and is not used regularly. If you need just a minder you can get away with just a 1 or 1.5 amp one. I also like having a bigger one to use as a charger or maintainer. Both my 8 amp ones have repair modes for anti sulphate pulse charging. I have recovered a number of bad batteries for people with those chargers. Really nice to have.
