I am restoring a 1972 Stage 1 Suncoupe White with black vynil and black interior . I do not know how to start a vote so just tell me here what you guys think . I am not really into white cxars but I am considering it now . I want to do it triple black and am also considering a tribute to ther Stage 1 Suncoupe that wasa promo car in thye mags in 1971 it was flame orange with a full vynil roof .

hi, i have my 72 buick gs that i want to paint. It has green interior and i thought about painting it canary yellow with green belts. How would that look? I can't see how it will look but maybe ou can. He suggest i paint the hood tach green to go with the belts. what do you think?

Hey, why be weird with the top? For lack of a better term in my mind, the targa 3/4 tops were the norm and looked nice. The little pinstripe along the doors across the top. Yours could be black or red with a black interior, black probably being the original type.

As I told you before, my Sun Coupe was orange with a white top and interior, white pinstripe. Very sharp color combination. I could have bought yellow or blue at the dealer brand new too, but liked the orange the best.

Too many black Black Buick's around already with all the GNs out there.

If this is really a one of one Stage1 Sun Coupe, I'd definitely stick to original colors, especially since white will look great.

    My .02

ksplynch, I think he's nuts. Go with a nice dark green with the green interior. Hunter green is a great color, and I don't think you'd regret it. You can either paint the tach or keep it black. Mine is black on a silver car.

Mike , My car is not one of one but one of 3 known to still exist . I know of 2 others both Heritige green with white top and interior . The fact that both those cars are so much alike then mine is different . Right now I am leaning towards original but triple black would be very nice . I have my car in Marco's registry and have all original paperwork . The 3 cars do not include the orange one here and I also have seen a yellow and black Stage 1 Suncoupe but that was 20 years ago and it was very rusty then .

    Original

I vote original colors - something that unique needs to be kept original - white and black are classic

I vote white as well. Keep it original, and if you have not seen it, white with black vinyl top and black interior looks stunning! It also has other advantages such as small scratches are easy to hide, won't show every little imperfection like black, etc. It makes the chrome and the red strips on the rocker panels and red in the emblems jump out at you as well. Your entire car would be white, black and chrome with hints of red.

Just make sure ll the gaps are nice on the panels, they do show up very clearly with a white car.

I forgot , I really do not think yellow and green look good on a car but if you are doing a John Deere or a tribute to the Packers then go ahead . Try a photo suite to change the colors and see hat it looks like .

White is the right color if this car is unick as you say Black is such a pain in the a@# to the bodyman painter then you washing two times a day and all that waxing plus the only real black in my opion is laquar ureatanes just cant get that shine if you want to trick it up or change it a bit think about some blue pearl to axcent the body lines and black pin strips

I tell ya, a white car with NICE chrome (and black top) looks damn nice, kinda wish I would have left mine that way. Go with the white, if you got the car because its rare, don't change it.

I like that. The full vinyl (IMO) looks better than the "halo" roof. Those colors would look nice if you end up using them. :TU:

What everybody else says, John--- keep it white!! The black top sets it off, especially those 3/4 tops and the pinstripes that bend around them-- sharp!!! I like the plane-Jane interior as well...... Great car!!!
