You got my attention! I need 2 door 64 Special parts, like interior parts and trunk lid. OK, here's my stab at it:

-64 Special and Special Deluxe have separate port hole moldings on fenders (Skylark side moldings incorporate port holes within wider side moldings
-64 Special, no side moldings, 64 Special Deluxe uses thinner side moldings vs. Skylark but same idea
-the doors wont interchange without work because of the Special window frames on the doors
-quarter panels should be the same but don't know about the area of convertible vs. non-convertible
    -gas tank same
-steering columns same power or non power I believe
-interior panels for 64 are specific to hartop (Skylark) vs. Special/Special Deluxe

Is your parts car a 64 Special or Special Deluxe? Is it a convertible or non-convertible?
I might want to buy some parts off you if you don't need them.

Ask away I'll try to help you plus there are the gurus like Brian that will know specifics for sure.

    Kevin,

Got a chance to look at the 64 Special last night, it is pretty rough. Owner doesn't know if is a Deluxe or not. 2 dr. hardtop, with thin side molding. Has the cross braces in front of the radiator like a convertible. Owner thinks it has a aluminum V8? A lot of snow on it right now so cant see it real well overall. Will look at it closer when I can.

the quarter panels will not work for direct replacement due to the convertible has no back window and that changes the form of it from the body line up. If you mparked the cars next to each other you can see the differance. you can however slice the parts off you need to make it work.

if the first digit of the vin is a zero, its a v8,special. if the first digit of vin is a one, its a v8 special deluxe. thin side trim is special deluxe. thanks for the update looking forward to hear more. the 300 v8 for 64 got aluminum heads.

    Kevin,

300 v8 for '64 has aluminum intake also.

    Crawdadman,

My '64 Skylark hardtop has the cross braces in front of the radiator, so not sure if that is a convertible thing or not.

Maybe these bits of info will help :Do No:
