Can someone refresh my memory as to what all should be cadmium under the hood. I know brake booster and I believe hood latch. Where hood springs/arms as well. This being correct for 69? Thanks
Brake boosters were originally plated zinc-dichromate from the factory...not cadmium. Any questions call Steve at Power Brake Booster Exchange in Portland, Oregon 503-238-8882
The hood latch mechanism was the same gold plating as the booster on most year Buicks. The rods to transmission and rod to steering columns were probably gold as well. You might get an argument I’m that one. TCS solenoid on front of carb was gold and some of the 3 port vacuum switched on manifold that were not plastic were hood gold. I find gold on bottom of small accelerator bracket behind carb was gold as well but hood is always worn off the top part.
Master cylinder cover is gold. Hood hinges and springs were gray phosphate. Pretty sure brake valve under booster was gold too.
