I have a drive shaft that is going in to be shortened. Trans end appears to be 1330 style with 3 5/8" from outside clip to clip and appears to match the th400 yoke. Rear end is a smaller size because the drive shaft was originally made for a Sport Wagon with a 12 bolt. What style end do I request the shop to put on the shaft? The rear end is a 72 Skylark 8. 5

The U joint for a 12 bolt is smaller. They make a hybrid u-joint for the 12 bolt and a Buick drive shaft. Is there a different yoke on your 8.5? If not, it should take the bigger u joint. In that case, I would have the shop put the correct Buick end on so you can use the bigger Buick U -joint.

My drive shaft is too long so I figured on replacing the end since they have to cut it off anyway. The yoke on the rear is a stock 8.5 yoke.

Put the correct Buick end on and use the bigger 3R U joint I linked.
