I have a stumble problem that is being caused by the accelerator pump on my front carb. The check valves are both OK, and so far I have tried 2 new pumps and I still have problems. I did as the directions say, and inserted a small screwdriver around the perimeter of the leather seal (after soaking it in gas) to help expand it. It works almost OK for a few days and then starts squirting very weakly...........enough to cause a stumble that's worst when cold. Not too good for performance! This is a Carter AFB carburetor. Does anybody have a suggestion that would help me? o No:
I have roughed up the cylinder with some very fine grit sand paper, and you need to really "cup" the edge. Dan
I guess I was being too gentle..........I stretched out the cup really well and the cold stumbling problem is gone. Huge improvement.........Thanks, Dan!:TU:
