tOO MUCH DRILLING AND MODIFYING THESE DAYS... uPPER ADJUSTABLE CONTROL ARMS ARE ALL YOU NEED NOW TO DO THE SAME THING AND NO HOP AND SOUTH MACHINE BARS. Crap the caps lock was on...Not yelling guys. But yes the NEW technology makes it so you need not ruin your car for the instant center change anymore.
BUT if you get the others for CHEAP I guess go with it. v
My Monte is a SS 1971 so I am not into drilling and modifying a 1 of 1919 car.
You have to determine what is important for you.
Good luck...Hope the springs and stuff just work with out mods. :) Jim

Larry, One thing I never liked about the NO HOP is the bar on the passenger side is right in the way of the FILL plug in the casting...Guess a cover with a plug would have solved that.
    Just another thought for Brett

Good rear bushings, boxed stock uppers and lower control arms, stock height soft springs, inexpensive shocks, I could pound on my W30 4 speed car, zero wheel hop with 395 rwhp, 510 rwftlbs torque. Important to have rear lower control arms parallel to ground. Works for me and many others. Nothing elaborate. If you want that air shocks, jacked up rear, you will have wheel hop issues. When I first restored the W30, I had taller rear springs that gave the car a slight rake, which I like….but wheel hop was bad.

Jim, that happens a lot to you:D

I thought pinion angle and instant center were two different things. How do you adjust them both independently with just adjustable upper control arms?

Had some time today to tinker - and room to roam.

Wheelhop is still there if you zoom in.

Brett, where is the tire mark for the driver side ? You may have a problem with the cones in your rear.

It's on the left in the photo.

That wouldn't surprise me, actually. I'm 100% sure this poor rear end has had the absolute sh!t beat out of it over the last 52 years.

Yes start with a rear end rebuild

That's the original plan. However, FabCraft is about 2 years behind with the goods.

So, it's either wait on them or stuff in a new rear end.

Gears could be fined, just buy a new posi unit I believe they were available.

TA performers had them in their catalogs with the gear sets. Contact Brian Trick I’m sure he could tell you where to get one.

Looks like one tire might be under inflated? HAve you checked the tire tread and air inflation lately? That is pretty bizarre...?? No so much the hopping the tread pattern on one from the other Jim

I'm on the list for FabCraft and spoke to them a couple months ago.

Once they start doing them again, they're going to reach out to people who've inquired.

That is not a ring and pinion problem and the posi does seem to be doing its job on both sides. BUT the tire tread on the driverside there is a tire issues inflation or over wear issue or something.
The wheel hop is not from the rear end inside guts ...it is suspension and pinion angle etc. You have to find out what that is. I would buy or borrow a set of upper adjustable control arms and tinker with that some. Just weird how you can not stop that from happening. UNLESS the posi is pulsing and the cones are hitting the bottom of the cases on each side...BUT that still does not give a tire mark different on each side. What does your tire tread look like on each side?
Just seems like the outer edge of the tread is gripping (cause: under inflated tire. )

    That tire does lose air.

I need to replace/fix the stem.

Doing them? them being what ? ring and pinion or posi units?
What gear ratio do you have now? The ring and pinion are not the issue on burn outs. You should be able to do 2.56 or 3.23 or 4.10 or any ratio burn out with a nice clean 2 strip marks.
