I need a new A6 compressor for my 72. I don't trust rebuilts so where is the best place to get a new one?
Arizone Mobile Air www.ackits.com carries new A6 compressors. You might want to email them and ask if the new ones use a double lip neoprene shaft seal as opposed to the old ceramic seal. The modern seal eliminates the oil slinging common to the A6. I seem to remember that they do, but I'm not positive. If you're not interested in originality, there's also the Pro-6Ten compressor. It's a direct bolt on swap for the A6 that uses Sanden internals. They're about the same price as a new A6.
