Yep, I have not seen but a handfull of Olds 455/400 cars perform to their potential. Most of the H/O crowd prefers the show circut to racing. I'd like to show and go mine.
I do not see any reason a certified H/O cannot turn 12's, the 70 W-30's have already done it. :3gears:

YUP, but the only one that got into the 12's was certified. Otherwise, only a few of us would believe it to be legit. Actually there have only been 2 Oldsmobiles to get into the 12's and they were both 70 Wcars and both went through the certification process (same year if I remember right). Casey's W31 F85 was the other one.

I think a 68 HO is right up there with a 66 W30 and the 70 W30 as the most potential Olds in Pure Stock trim. 69 HO's not that far behind.

    Dave,
my silver 72 W30 ran a 12.91@103 at the June Stanton race. That was mostly due to the car's awesome 1.87 60ft time.

I had my heads worked at his shop 2 months ago, been too lazy to go get them this week though. (whispering)My car is still down to the frame shhhh, don't tell him.:dollar:

Sorry Tom, forgot that one. So that makes what? 3? 2 W30's and one W31? Any others?

We have a new racer for my nephew. It is a car Rich Rinke and I did. Originally it was a Rich C. car that traveled to his best friend John and then ultimately to us. We sold the car with training wheels that Larry raced last year to a newbie who will join us this fall.

Little Larry's new ride: '72 401 4spd Go Pack AMX. I will have to build up an axle for it but we already have the parts. A new posi, axle shafts and gear will go in over the next couple weeks and it will be ready to race. It should be a big step up for him changing to a 4spd and dropping hopefully about 2 seconds off the Jav's time.

He gets to break it out in June.

Pretty sure that is your pulley (part # PP775) You need a non A/C 2 groove pulley for the long style water pump correct? Might not have the KA on it, but it will get you by until you find a real one. :TU: I have been seeking that golden bolt for a while too, nobody wants to give them up. I have made the two groove jobbies for a short style pump work too without looking shade tree mechanic. The 67 442 non A/C with H/D cooling pump (short) will bolt right on 68-up non A/C pulleys from a run of the mill 350 (way easier to find!).:TU: :beers2:
