So I have a question, My sons 71 Skylark Custom has a TH-350 and he has a 71 Skylark 4-door parts car, I took both motors and tranny's out of them, I'm using the one out of the 4-door for a swap in my 67 Cutlass, so I'm cleaning it up and I'm changing the o-ring on the speedo cover and the bolt that holds the retainer is metric, or at least that is the only socket that would fit it, also the bolts that hold the transmission mount use a metric socket too, but the bolts that hold the tailshaft housing on use a 9/16 socket, wierd? so I check the stuff on his skylark custom and they all use standard and not metric, also the bolt on the custom car that holds that retainer is also bigger than the 4-door car's tranny. Also the part on the custom car's tranny where the vacuum line goes, that wierd can thing is much bigger than the 4 door tranny, so what's up with that? same year car, just one is a Skylark 4 door and one is a Skylark Custom, Any one else seen this before?

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Some trans shop installed an on-the-shelf trans in the cars past...you have a late model trans in it....check the tranny tag for the year....located on the pass side.
