Just bought a 72 Skylark that is in very nice condition except for some leaking from the rear window. I have read up on the way to fix it, which is more than I have time to since I am moving, and probably prefer to wait until I am going to repaint the car and replace the vinal top.

I am wondering if there is a quick fix that will solve the problem temporarily. It has a vinyl top that has left a little bit of bubbling up on the edges around the window (couple inch section), and the bottom parts of the top itself.

Easiest solution......use black polyurethane caulking from Home Depot.....called Roof and Flashing sealer. It will be tough to remove but will solve your problem.

there really is no way to seal the leaks because where u need to reseal is not open in the trunk area. rust repair job is the only cure which means pulling back the vinyl roof, removing the rear glass and hope that the rust holes are small enough that they can be mig welded.
