I was at a car show this past week end and a guy there brought a 63 Plymouth Savoy with a 426 wedge and a crossram intake. This is not one of the Aluminium front end cars, its all steel with only 96 original miles!! I spent most of its life in New Mexico as a Drag car. I know it needs to have some sort of factory steel wheels and smaller tires. The guy is a friend of a friend and I did drop a hint about racing it in Pure Stock sometime. He just finished it this past week after a 4 year resto...so I dont know if he is ready to beat it just yet. Pics:
YES! Steel front end cars are legal for PS/SA racing. EVEN the 13.5 Compression ratio cars. Like you said it would need steel wheels and as far as I know it's allowed to run G70-14 tires in PS or SA and he could also run 225/70/14 Radials in PS. PS. Tell your buddy to be careful not to shift into "DEFROST" if he's never driven a "PUSHBUTTON" tranny Mopar :Brow:
Well, now that you have given Mike the type of Woody he normally reserves for the State Fair :eek2: , you migh want to drop Bob or Dan a e-mail with the car peticulars. I am pretty sure Mike is right, I just don't trust the angry pentagram crowd  http://www.geocities.com/psmcdr/
Didn't these things come with a 7.95x14 tire?? What does that equate to in "letter" sizes??? E78??? A E70-14 translates into a 205R70-14. I think you're WAY too big on tire size with a 225. Also, that car would be PS eligible as we had a certified stock 426 Max Wedge car running at last year's event. :Smarty:
For some reason I recall Bob K telling Dave Dudek before the first FAD race that Dan allowed 15" tires on Max Wedge cars? Bob wanted to bring a buddies Maxie car and was suprized when we told him 14" tires. I could be wrong...Wouldn't be the first time and sure won't be the last.
