I've never had a trailer where the sway bars were needed. I always thought that the sway was due to an improper set up or loading. My bro in law had a 24 enclosed and that thing was all over the road. even with the bars it didnt tow right. He had a 12 -16" extended hitch on the back of the truck and my thinking was the issue.

Figure what the heaviest load is you will carry and go 12-1500 lbs more. Many people with light race vehicles do a great deal of damage to their cars over the road with a suspension that is to stiff. Standard car in trailer not a big deal racecar can be an expensive deal.
As for tires E range tires are on my old trailer that is rated for 8000 lbs.
As for the financial side of it, do you have an equity account with your business? I got a better rate (3.4%) on the 42' Haulmark we bought in January over a standard loan rate using my equity account.

X2 on the extra to extra tongue length. It was under 150 bucks.......helps clear the corners on the motor home in shaper corners

I do have a LOC on the business. I could write a check but the rate is 8% and Im thinking I can get cheaper money. Also that monthly payment is 100% deductible where on the LOC all I get is the interest and deprecation on the trailer.

I went to E rated tires on my trailer also, a little more money but worth it.

Cannot underestimate the value of good trailer tires. First few years of going to BG I'd lose at least one tire if not 2 on every trip. Bought good stuff and they've been on there for several years. Actually wore a set out before they popped.

So I picked up a 2013 Halmark 24' trailer today. Got from the original owner with all the paperwork and owners manual. He included the winch, a set of Race ramps. couple of shelves and storage racks for fluids, fuel cans ect. It does not have the ext tongue or the escape door. I can see now why the tongue is a nice addition. Will probably end up modifying that in the near future KIMG0712[1].JPG

    Steve looks good.
Use a weight distribution hitch. It should add some length and stability to the trailer.
Oh and get some better mirrors :)

It towed really well and I came through some strong thunder storms on the way home. You could feel the wind pushing the trailer around but it wasnt anything to worry about. I just ordered the mirrors you suggested.

You will see a big difference with the 2nd set I showed you.
Are you bringing it to BG? That should stop the Squirrel issues.

Na. this trailer will be a home for the Skyhawk. Bringing the Wildcat to BG and its no trailer queen. I'll save that extra 5 MPG and drag to open trailer.

Briz, keep your eye out for a wrecked car hauler that has an escape door and if the guy/company is parting it out grab it and modify yours. Or go to a trailer dealer and have them install one or purchase one and install it yourself?? Just some thoughts for ya. After all it's only metal. Cut, fab, weld, enjoy:)

Ya, Ive considered that exact thing and will probably do it in the future. Right now Im pealing off stickers and getting ready to repaint the areas where they were. Going to chop off the tongue and extend it 16" then weld what I chopped off back on. will use the extra space to mount a generator. So much to do and seems like not enough time.

Decided to give the Tow rig, my F250 a long over due make over. The cowel / windshield area had been leaking so that started the snow ball rolling after it got into the GEM and made the truck freak out. New windshield, opened up the cowl. Only place that looked suspicious was a pinch welds near the bottom left of the windshield channel. The carpet stank like mold due to the leak and was pretty trashed after 20 years so that came out and was replaced. several clips on the cowl cover were broke, replaced. Steamed cleaned the seats while they were out and added huge tow mirrors which Im sure I will knock off sooner than later. Cliff Love has requested to purchase the old block and rotating assembly out of the Regal. That currently sets as a complete mock up engine in the Skyhawk so that needs to come out and get stripped before the nationals. The open trailer needs to be serviced before the nationals. A hand full of things needs to addressed on the Wildcat before the trip. Then theres work. Im on call and as soon as I get busy doing any of the above things I get called!

Holy crap that's alot going on there! Somewhere in all that you gotta find time to relax and have a beer:). I know how ya feel I got a million things going on at once and feel like I'm just spinning my wheels. I've decided to put things in order of importance and work through all my tasks one at a time. Task #1 is crack a cold one, the rest will follow after that:D. Good luck with the new trailer and revamped tow rig Briz, cheers:cool:.

Fortunately I dont really drink. Once in awhile a mixed adult beverage. Its been months since I've cracked a beer. Saves time and money! Back in my much younger days I chose weed over beer. Gave up the weed after a short 5 year free county sponsored vacation back in the late 80's. Its all good! Me back in 85!

Started removing the stickers and decals off the trailer. Was sorely mistaken when I thought this was gonna be an easy task. Fist attempt was the Subaru sticker. Broke out the heat gun and a plastic scraper. Decal came right off but the glue stayed. Denatured Alcohol didnt hardly touch it and lacquer thinner took the paint off with the glue. Strike one. Next one used that rubber rub off wheel on a drill. Slow going but it worked. To high RPM melts the paint. slower works ok but leaves glue. Lq thinner removes glue and paint. By now its clear im not getting out of this without doing some touch up painting. from there out its full on get it done at any cost. Rubber wheel, Lq Thinner, 80 grit , 220 and 330. scrub the entire side clean using purple power. mask and spray. The touched up areas look better than the untouched so its probably gonna get a full on repaint in the future. Now, do I repaint white or blue? Put new Buick related stickers n stuff on it.. get a local kid to air brush some art or just leave it blank....

Do you guys have Goo Gone or Goof Off down there?? It works great for removing sticker residue and doesn't take the paint off either.
