If those Sportwagon emblems and Tail light Housings are any good they would also be worth saving from oblivion.....

Greg - great pix, nice way to blow a day !
Next time your back, can you check the '68 Riv for hood to cowl seal molded ends (rubber with metal inserts, right/left sides) at top of firewall? The '70 Riv may have em too!
    Please 'n Thanks!

After further review of your pictures I think maybe that '64 Riv might be worth checking out more closely. The tail lights are probably pitted but worth grabbing if the lenses are good and the price is right. Other things to look for would be power accesories, cruise control, posi, 425 motor, power antenna, power windows, power seat, etc. Something I would be interested from that car are the interior dome light housings, there should be four of them. Have fun!:TU:

    Greg - Just remembered something else . . .

When your checkin the '68 for the parts I mentioned, take a look at the head light vaccum actuators - I'm lookin for spares.
They are easy to remove (*just 4 clevis pins along with the hoses) and the acctuator rods should move up / down freely in the cannisters. The shafts may be siezed with rust - if they are the units are nfg!

    Thanks Greg. :)

Are the sport mirrors on that 76 Riv in good shape? I'm looking for a set.

83Stage1, did the 68 Riv have manual A/C? If so, I'll pay you $$$ for the heater (door) control cable if it still works :) This is the one connected to the cold/hot temperature wheel.

Man you have it good out there Greg! If I did that here, it would cost me $35 every time I walked thru the gate. What a ripoff.:af:

    Uuuuuuh... Manual A/C?

I identify that by the hand-crank on the compressor?? :Do No:

I'm not familiar with the Riv's AC system. Some were able to kick in automatically based on a temp setting or something?

Yeah, we do. We have quite a few decent yards in the area to wander & none charge a 'door fee'.

Still have trouble comprehending the dork out there does....

  14. I don't get to Bismarck as often as I used to, but maybe you can point me in the right direction sometime when I do. Are they pretty reasonably priced in general?

    Yes:laugh:

Correct on the Automatic AC vs. manual AC

Sure can. Prices are cheap to reasonable. Kinda depends on who you catch behind the counter & how good a mood he's in.

    NorthernRiv and/or Smartin,
How do I Id the difference? I'm guessing the manual AC is going to be more common and look like typical AC controls. Does the automatic one have a temperature dial rather than a slide-type control?

The '68 Rivieras all had the dials, the ones with auto a/c had the words "automatic climate control" written near the controls and I'm guessing they didn't have a low-medium-high type of dial for the blower.

    tilt steering column

this is for the guy who put a buick tilt column in a chevy

    My dad has a '65 cj5 with a 215" buick, fiberglass body
He needed a tilt column cause it's kinda tight getting in and out.

Donor car '70 el camino SS - he cut the end of so it won't ever be back in Chevy - should see their face when they see the "SS" on the steering wheel.

Ok, all items doublechecked on, here we go:

66 Skylark Turquise seat belts - still there. Fronts are faded where the sewn edge of the belt stays up above the roller. The rolled portion is very nice with good color.

The rears were tucked under the seat. They're dirty and somewhat rust-stained, but the webbing is good. The sewn-on part-no/date labels are worn/tore from rubbing on the floor.

All the latches are in working order. No noticeable gouges/scratches. One of the push buttons even had nice color yet.

The plastic covers over the front rollers is very brittle. I don't think its going to be willing to come off without cracking or breaking.

Price would be $25 for all four.

The car also has nice armrest cushions. The bases are shot. The visors are very nice.

66 Skylark wheel well trim & taillights:

There was only one taillight among the cars. A driver's side one. The bezel is faded & pitted, but the lens was good.

The turquise car had all four wheel well trims. There was also a white 2-door with the trim. The left front fender was damaged on both cars. The trim was bent, but not kinked anywhere. I have pictures of all eight I could send, but didn't want to suck up that much room here. Price will depend on condition of individual pieces.

There wasn't much for body trim left. The front fender louvers weren't bad.
