A gallon of Black Nason Fulthane is $385 then $95 for activator

Sikkens Clear is $820 a gallon now

Yeah, Nason is the most affordable and I usually stick with that. I remember the first time I saw that red on a new Mazda SUV parked down the street from my office. I would stop and stare at it a couple times a week because I had never seen a color that stood out so much. Love at first sight.

That color really pops Mark. My late brother worked at Akzo, then Matrix. He's the one that painted my GS using Centari acrylic enamel with a gloss enhancer I think abt 40 yrs ago.

My neighbor has a Mazda SUV in that color. It really pops when it is sitting in the sun.

The DBU was really good...I sprayed ALOT of DBC then Matrix ...it started off a really nice product but when they sold out it went to hell imo...the clears changed overnight under the new ownership

U ever use PPG vibrance like 2021 with no solvent popping I like to put some double coats on and block sand with 600 comes out very flat can u do that with these new clears I shot my pick up with it 4 years ago has stayed very glossy great clear like the old DBU clear I think the hardner was DAU 3 clear was DAU 72 it was in the 80’s I’m old I sprayed my gutters on my house with it in 1990 they still shine like the day I did them probably still in my lungs LOL

If you wanted or needed to yes, after a day or so you can sand with say 1000 or 1200 and re clear, I see no difference if this is done other than the clear gets looking like cottage cheese.

I like to flow when time and money allows....3cts...let it sit for a few days or a week...sand with block with 600/800...two more cts of clear...the block with 1k...1200 firm sponge...2k holey soft sponge...that the ONLY way I've found to not have the wave only a paint guy will see..the heat from buffing will pull and move it around if you dont flow coat from my experience..now granted I'm talking about the very faint wiggles that only guys like me and Mark will see and only in certain light and angles. I've yet been paind enough to be able to do my "BEST"....90% of the population would lnt pay what it take

Absolutely....I had a customer stop by after I painted his 70 chevelle..was on the rotisserie...had peel in it...not like a garage sprayed with fast hardner peel...ha ...nice factory finish peel....I purposely don't try to "hammer" something I know I'm gonna buff...just 3 EVEN coats,..no runs...gathering on edges..etc...I have zero concern about sticking it up...but anyway he was all in a tizzy..."I'm paying 20k for orange peel!!! Bla bla...told him to co.e see it in a week....yea all he could do was stare....I can't stand something that's been buffed and still chunky and heavy looking....gotta swallow your pride when painting to buff

Yep, people wanna see what their vehicle looks like RIGHT AFTER its painted, I always say “wait till it’s buffed” cause they all look like colored turds right after they’re sprayed, ESPECIALLY with no trim/brighwork on them.

    Here’s a pic after sanding and rubbing/polishing.
Had to roll it to the side for touch up on this ‘82 Corvette.

    wheelz 'B' is for Buick.

The last full paint job 2012 I believe, I used Diamont base/clear process, in my home garage! Sure did have bugs' stuff in the top coat but color sanded out very nicely. This WAS my Fave color back then: SunBurst Orange Metallic. Car went to Sweden along with Fernandos 72 GS Vert!
