Got the bumper off… I have only had time to work on it an hour or so a day. Still can’t get the engine to turn… wondering how much penetrant I’m gunna soak till I shop a new motor.

Well, I ran my car on the chassis dyno over the weekend and although it ran well and can now buzz up to 6800 rpm without missing or breaking up, I was greatly disappointed with the HP numbers.
My peak HP at the wheels was 532, which should net around 640 / 665 at the crank. I was shooting for a solid 700+. Needless to say, I'm rather disappointed with these results. The good thing is that it ran well with no leaks or issues.
I'm guessing it should run mid to high 10's which will completely put me out of SS contention. I'll have to run GSR...... I better practice my reaction times! It's a bummer when my original goal was an 8 second street car and now dropping to the 10 second range.

I'm thinking this is a result of the compression now being at a little over 11:1 and keeping the blower/boost cam vs. getting a new cam designed for NA / pump gas. The computer dyno showed it to be OK, but I'm sure that I'm far from optimal
for the application. I'll run it at the Nat's and see how it goes. I'll have options for the future.............. :D

    You might run your number!
Dynos are good for tuning, but I see a lot of “dyno numbers” that don’t explain why the car is quicker than what the “dyno numbers” said

    Cruz night at Stuart....
While most of you are heading to BG, I was lucky enough to park next to a few GN's
    Place was packed.

Test ran the red headed stepchild. Hold on to your hat. I’d guess it’s in the 550hp range. Still smiling. Fuel system was adequate with 1/2 inch pickup and line and RobbMC 1100 mechanical pump. 36 all in was the sweet spot 4 degrees advance on the cam. 110 only for this bad boy. Some wire cleanup and it’s off to the races

The Riv did that in Jan of 2018. Right on her 50th birthday.

Took the Hawk to a local car show Sat am. Entered in "Hotrod" class cause it was the closest fit. Looking around at the other cars in the class I didnt think I had a snowball's' chance to place but in the end was awarded 2nd. IDK how it happened. Would have rather hit the 50/50.

Nothing. I spent an hour and a half extracting the broken off engine oil dipstick. The local Firestone store broke it. It's a cheap, POS part that's lasted almost 20 years. I'm not the least bit PO'd about the dipstick, but I am that they didn't tell me about it.

WHAT pray-tell was your Buick doing at a Firestone? Other than tires, of course.

Racing and wrenching on the Hawk at the Nationals. Some reason the suspension got all messed up on the trip north
