Correct, now a days being made in the U.S.A. Does not make it good. A year or two ago had two rotors in stock, same part number. One made in China, one made in U.S.A. The one from China was covered with rosouleen (sp?) inside the box in a sealed plastic bag. The one made in U.S.A. Was in the box not in a plastic bag full of loose metal chips from the machining process full of rust. Very disappointing

Baldwin is my “go to” filter now. I hope they don’t move their production offshore any time soon.

    Larry, you'll like this one.
I took own a Honda. When I was in the Honda dealership getting my Honda serviced, the Service Manager over heard me saying I use Mobil 1 for my oil to the Service writer.

He interrupted our conversation and said, you need to use ONLY only honda oil.
I asked why is that, Honda makes this oil for their cars.

Really, I replied, that's amazing, I lived in Japan for 5 years and I can tell you, the Japanese don't have oil production on their island.
As long as I use ASE certified oil
if the same 0-20 weight as spelled out in my Honda warranty, i'am good to go.

He didn't say a word and walked off. I looked at the service writer and said, is he for real? Service writer said he's not to swift. Vet

Honda actually pays for oil changes in the first two years of ownership. The maintenance minder has to be down to 15% or less. I don't trust them to change my oil, that's the bottom line. I'd rather do it myself and know it is done right. I used the Honda filter, and mobil1 0W/20.

    Bad news. Read below.

Baldwin Filters continued its steady growth. In Nebraska, manufacturing capacity was expanded and a multi-million dollar technical center was added for research and testing. New facilities were also opened in Europe, Mexico, Australia, China, South Africa and Morocco.

I can almost feel your pain. Vet

In Northern Virginia, you don't get the freebie of getting oil changes for the first two years.
The only freebie is, if you bought your Honda at this dealership, you get free State Safety Inspections. I do that because it saves me $20.00 bucks. Vet

Clay, NY? I grew up in the next town over, Baldwinsville. My father worked at GE Electronics Lab for years.

Yes in Clay. It’s supposed to be the next Erie Canal moment. And I’ve lived in Baldwinsville my whole life with the exception of 5 years in the 80’s. I grew up in Village Green.

Larry, I tell my customers for GM and Honda, if you are using the minder, 50% is as far as I recommend going. We have seen very extensive engine damage on the back side of the vehicle’s life when the minder is followed. A lot depends on climate and driving habits. But it’s better to be safe than sorry. 50% on both GM and Honda is around 6000 miles. Many Toyota’s don't make it until 6000 miles on their minder in the winter up here. I like that. And if Fram makes Honda’s oil filters, go with OEM Honda. Just because they make them for Honda you can’t assume they are made the same as their own offering. The 7356 Napa Gold filter for Honda has been a particularly bad filter since the change. We’ve gone to OEM Honda, OEM Subaru and OEM Toyota for those filters. The rest are genuine WIX/Mann-Hummel. No more NAPA.

Had a wix come off in pieces, switching to OEM on all vehicles.

    Thanks Bob,
I do maybe 6-7000 miles a year. I changed it at around 5000 miles and the minder was at 20%. I’ll see what it is at 50%, and probably change it again. Very easy job. The Honda filters are easy to get in a 5 pack on Amazon.

Well hopefully since they are expanding their Nebraska plant, the filters they sell in the U.S. will all be made there.
The Baldwin filters that I have bought appear to be the best made filters that I have seen. We can only hope this continues…
