    Lolol you got that right!!!
That’s the biggest drawback to being a painter, you can do the bodywork anywhere, BUT when it comes down to painting, ughhhhhhh, a booth is practically a “gotta have”

LOVE that color, especially on a '69... though I might be a bit biased :D
If that color was around in 1989 when mine was painted, I would have went with that in a heartbeat (instead of the Toyota Burgundy Pearl Mica)
    Gonna need more photos!

    Thank you!
It’s Auto Art high solids 2 to 1 to 10% reducer, I can’t remember the product number. I spray 2 coats, that’s it.
That pic was my first coat, I put it on wet, no misting for me:D
Tri stage (completes) beat me up:(

I’m partial too it also, first time I saw it on a Mazda SUV I’m like “WOW!”
I get more pics after I sand and rub/polish.

I was a first class auto painter for 20+ years retire from painting 2004. 1 I was pretty much was making the most I could make and 2 I got tired of making all the major paint manufactures look good spending crazy amount of time matching paint colors to make them look good. The only thing I ever sprayed in an open garage was my stage 1 with Dupont diamond black lacquer with clearcoat. I Also painted in my brothers Ford Granada enamel in his garage white turned out great but the paint got was all over the place what a mess stunk forever. I had for the most part always had some kind of spray booth to use.

    Yep!
Without a booth your at the mercy of the elements, factors beyond your control. You can blow off, and wet down, but that lasts for only a few minutes, plus when your spraying your disturbing the air again.
Painting is physically and mentally draining.

The cost for the 46V (Tri stage) was near 2000.00
For the 5 litre can of clear, and hardener was 500.00 or so.
    Then there’s the reducer, sealer/activator.
I do remember for this particular order it was almost 3000.00

I hear yah on the cost!
When I brought up my ‘75 Electra from South Carolina back in 86/87 it was Mt. Vernon cream (like Bamboo cream)
I wanted to paint it burgundy metallic, NOPE too expensive! Centari black, 33.00 a gallon:D

I wonder if there is one single entity responsible for all those skyrocketing costs...

At one time Dupont made the majority of automotive paints in the U.S.

I don't know where that stands now.
