Bummer, same weekend as the Puget Sound BCA All Buick Show in Puyallup is every year. It is a shame that the Nationals picked the same weekend.
I wouldn't have thought so either. This is our 26th year doing the show, and it is almost always on the day before Father's day every year. Can't see how the Nationals Committee wouldn't have known about the conflict.
Fathers Day is June 16, Buick Open June 15. I have missed the Nationals more than two years in a row, I guess one more won't matter. :>) I didn't miss the Buick Open last year, I was there until noon, and then left for my daughter's graduation.
As I said in my post, it is almost always Fathers Day weekend. It is held in conjunction with the Meeker's Day street fair (they pick the dates, not us), and in 2013/14 they experimented with changing the weekend. It didn't go well, and they changed it back to Father's Day weekend.
Not sure I doubt it has changed but the nationals never adjusts the schedule around chapter shows. They pick the date that best suits location, time of year for area, etc. that has been standard operating procedure as long as I know. Can you imagine them trying to get a national in if they work around all chapters, divisions and regions events?
As an Officer in the North Texas BCA chapter I am one of the planning coordinators for the BCA in Midwest City and in charge of all parking during the event including the show field on Saturday. We looked at several dates and worked with the National Meet Committee and the June dates were agreed on by all. The venue is going to be great and the tours, sights, things to do in the OKC area are awesome. We are continuing to tweak the day by day, hour by hour schedule and just revised it 4 hours ago. The hotels listed above are within walking distance of the host hotel. The swap meet will have the whole ground floor of the parking garage under cover as well as being outside in the parking lot. Lots of parking available and convention center is connected to host hotel. We are trying to keep the costs down this year as last year in Denver was expensive based on several factors. Denver was a great BCA Meet and we are trying to incorporate a lot of their successes and lessons learned. I will publicize the schedule when final and here is the registration form from the Buick Bugle or go to the BCA web site and down load it. https://www.buickclub.org/2019-bca-national-meet/ Ya'll Come !
