Post a v8 powered GBody. I used to have one but a Chevy Monte Carlo and man that thing flew. I will always be a Gbody guy but my next one will be a Buick for sure. Even a 4 door sound good to me. Post your Regal, GN, Lesabre! In high school I was saving money for a 4 door caprice but ended up with the MC. Got some front end damage and fixed it myself all from the junk yard. The Gbody with a V8 swap and a th350 is such a reliable monster. I'll try to dig some pictures up.
Here is a rare car that I special ordered in 1987. This is photo of my 1987 Buick Regal V8 engine (Olds 307), T-Package, Black out Package, Bucket seats, PW, PS, PB, 3 Speed automatic transmission and posi rear. I was dumb in 2000 and sold it to a guy in Illinois and he still has it today in his car collection. This car still only has only 60k miles on it today. .
Thats nice, nice rims did you black out the head lights. Did the 455 force you to get a hood with a scoop?
Just headlight covers. I’m just a fan of cowl hoods and with it I was able to run the sp1 intake a demon carb and an air cleaner that was 5” tall.
My twin son's and I are building two v8 G bodies now. Their first cars. We are just about done with the first one, a '79 Regal Limited. Started life as a very worn out 231 v6. Over the last year we rebuilt a Buick 350 that my brother donated, rebuilt a TH350 completely changed the interior color to black with bucket seats. I had to fabricate a lot of patch panels and painted the car Burnout Blue with Eastwood Urethane base and Clear. The first picture is right after we got it and the next one is a few weeks ago. It's been a lot of work and the boys have helped tremendously with every part of the car. At 15, he rebuilt the quadrajet with a kit I bought and it runs perfect. The other one we are just starting is an '87 El Camino with a chevy 305. My uncle gave it to my other son and hopefully I'll be spraying the paint on it in a couple weeks.
Not a Buick, but my old Cutlass had a 350 Olds I swapped in place of the original 260. Ran pretty good for what it was.
Are the Regal, Electra, and LaSalle coupes all on the same frame? Is it just the body that looks different?
Not pretty but it's fun to drive around town. No track time yet. Looking for a 8.5 rear with no luck and can't afford a 9"
Kinda dumpy, but it's mine and I love it. bought it in 2014 for 1400 bucks with 84xxx miles. 231 exploded in winter 2014, got my first job the following february. It's gone through 2 engines, three transmissions, and 2 rear ends. Current setup is a bone stock 1970 SP 350 I got from a fellow member and refreshed in my garage. Only alterations is a cam, ta cam bearings, double row timing set, TA HEI, 800cfm qjet, 1/2 spacer (clearance for linkage), and it has thicker headgaskets on it. Trans is a craigslist Th350 I put in with a Transgo 350-1-2 shift kit (no low control), and a hughes 2500 converter. Foot stalls to 2000, flashes to 2600. Rear is stock 3.42 posi 8.5 out of a GN I got for a steal. Puts 211hp@5k and 263ftlb@2700 to the ground with a rich as hell afr at WOT. Currently 85 miles away from its next oil change at 97,000 miles. I had it at Goodguys this past summer. Was a fun day. Was pretty cool to have my car there among hundreds of actual hotrods, was one of maybe 20 g bodies there.
