For sale, this slightly used (300mi?) performance-rebuilt Quadrajet for Buick 350, Completely rebuilt spring 2013, this carb had throttle shaft bushings installed, epoxied well plugs and electric choke. It has been recalibrated for street performance - would be ideal for a Buick 350 with a cam. This carb has the lower throttle arm necessary for use with a 200-4r trans, or the TH350 detent cable style that hooks to the throttle arm. I used it on my SBB 350 in my 83 Cutlass for a short while before I adapted a CCC system onto the 350. Sale price $225 shipped in the USA Priority Mail Post interest in this thread then send me a pm- the carb is not listed on my website and will only be sold via this thread.
Ken, This carb is running well on my 455. Replaced a 750 Edelbrock with it. You made changes to the carb for me since it was originally set up for the 350. I need your opinion on something. Using a wideband O2 sensor, the car idles at about 15.5 for AFR, and it cruises at 15.5 at low RPM. I have not checked it but I am sure it gets relatively good MPG as well. At WOT it is low 13s. Spark plugs are white and clean, not any brown on them. Question: Would you leave it at this or richen it up a bit more toward 14-ish? If I decide to richen it up, how much should I raise the APT screw (like 1/4 turn or less)?
If it runs well and mpg is a concern, I would leave it. Me personally I would like to see richer idle. What kind of vacuum reading do you get at idle? Have you adjusted the mix screws to your engine?
Ken, I checked idle vacuum and it is about 13. I adjusted the idle mixture screws to get the most vacuum. They ended up two turns out. I don't mind good MPG, but dont want to sacrifice performance, or running cooler, to get max mpg.
And you get 13 in Hg vacuum at this 15.5 idle afr? At idle, manually close the choke flap a little and see if the rpm goes up. Probably best to email me at ken@everyday-performance.com or call 860-218-5780 Thanks
Ken, Turns out it was my bad. One of the vacuum ports on the back of the carb was not plugged, so it is no wonder is was running a tad lean. John
