Mark, My wife is an IT Recruiter for Westfield Insurance. Here's the link to their web site and you can see if there are any openings you might be interested in. If so, please feel free to PM me and I'll give you her contact information. Thanks! http://www.westfieldgrp.com/jsp/careers/work_westfield.jsp
If you don't find anything local, consider moving south. I live on the Louisiana gulf coast, and the oil patch is HOT from Texas to Florida. The medical industry is huge here, too. I am a local, but i captured my wife-a Texas transplant in the nursing field. Our local job market is on fire since Katrina and Rita in 05, and with oil prices being what they are, exploration is at full tilt. Our shipyards and fab yards are recruiting as far away as Eastern Europe to get workers. In general, cost of living is moderate across the south, and the weather is better, too! Unemployment here is like 3%. Good luck, and don't get discouraged. Thanks, Rudy E.
Yeah, two weeks I had three offers all at the same time. I accepted one and told the other two thank you. After four days of work the contract was cancelled. I called the other two offers back but they had already offered the jobs to someone else. Most of the recruiters are telling me to wait until January/February when most of the jobs become available. I talked to my wife and we decided to just take it easy over the next couple of weeks and enjoy this time I have at home with my family. So that's what I'm going to do!
If you wanted to come to Oklahoma, might be able to get somthing with my company... I work Dell BTW Josh
Finally the wait is over. I started working in a permanent positon with Children's Hospital (Columbus, OH) on Monday 1/28 as a tech support analyst. I have been crazy busy with trying to learn all the new stuff but I'm very happy. Thank you all for remembering me. This truly has been a trial of faith, family and relationships. You ALL helped me get through this. -MARK
Mark have you ever thought about starting your own :Comp: I T company. a hard jump but well worth the chance. I got laid off from my last job and started my own company and make a lot more with less work. on site personal service is where it's at. customers want someone who cares and they're happy to pay. good luck with your search
Yeah I thought about it but couldn't really take the chance right now. I have three kids, my wife is almost finished with school and we have no other source of income. We also can't get private insurance. Maybe when the wife starts working I'll look into it again.
Great to hear that this has all worked out for you. Nice job by the way! Childrens Hospital is a very impressive operation. My nephew was down there once and all I can say is that they treated us all very well. I have a feeling that you'll have employment with them for as long as you want it. Congrats again... Chris
I thought you computer guys all drove super turbo tuner hondas! seriously though hang in there. I got laid off right before christmas one year and things looked bleak...I had a wife and a 2 small kids at the time. But a couple of months later I had a better job and things were looking up!
