I just received this photo via email tonight. It's just too cool to not share. It was taken near Heber City, Utah and features Union Pacific 2-8-0 #618, and a 53 Buick Super.

Had to of been some work to set that shot up.
Getting a vintage train and a car on the right day.
Notice the caboose on the back.

The world changed when we lost the caboose on the trains.
Not really sure if it was for the good.

Really a beautiful shot!!! Great comparison and shows class.

I posted that photo on the board in 2007, great shot by Michael Allen (he's from Flint, Michigan), he travels around the world to take photos of trains.

Hey Erik, it's entirely possible that I missed your original posting from 2007. I also received some of the others you posted.

It reminds one of simpler times of yore, when life wasn't such a rat race.

    Tom,
Did you also get the one with the red train plowing through the snow ?

I had that as my desktop background, but for some reason it was deleted from my computer.
So if you have it, please send it to me :TU:
It's an image of the front of a train covered in a cloud of snow with bright lights shining, taken with a very low shutter speed so you really see the snowflakes dwarreling.

Something like this, but even better.....[IMG] < Click :Comp:

    Anyway:
Here's more of Michael's work :Comp:

I don't have any cool pickup and train pics but I do have a pic of a old Chevy pickup took from one of my railroad's locomotives. We were passing by it last winter.

Here's a couple of other pics from that trip to Driftwood, PA from Dubois, PA.

Old Pennsylvania signals at CP Driftwood.

Taken at CP North Driftwood. The engine is about two weeks out of the paint shop. A few days later we hit 4 trees on our way back out to Driftwood.

Random elk pic. Taken just east of Grant, PA.
