I wish we could of saved this one long ago. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Buic...f9eQQitemZ180482621342QQptZUSQ5fCarsQ5fTrucks
Why are all the super rare ones so completely wasted away? I guess I've seen worse, but you're still looking at MAJOR surgery.
Well, at least it is documented... Someone will be sinking $100k putting that one back. I'd love to see the car at the BPG nats one day. I like the lock/emblem in the trunk, funny thing no one seems to be surprised it is there...:bglasses:
This one makes my GS 400 stick ragtop look solid! The bids are already rolling so this one will be "saved." Reference previous rebody discussion, now. Otherwise, why would you talk about how solid the dash, cowl and windshield frame are?
Totally freakin' cool. But Oh My God what an amazing amount of rot. I didn't know a car could be that rusty and still drive down the road. It's a damn shame considering there's probably 20 or 30 of these in existence today. I hope it gets a chance to be restored rather than stripped for parts but I am definitely not that brave/talented/stupid.
Its not too late. With the likes of Mark Reeves, Mike Garrison, Tri Shield and some others it can be saved, and its worth being saved in my opinion. It isnt going to be cheap, but it should be saved.
This car was posted by shaggyfinisher back in Dec of 2009 . I spoke with the guy. Honest nice guy. Not gonna be cheap, or one of the first three of us that talked to him woulda bought it. I think the other two guys names were George and Mike.
Do you think he's had a reality check in the meantime? As for rebody, I am AGAINST it. No car is too far gone to keep enough original to feel honest about its identity. Sacrifice a Special and patch it up. Reframe it, and cut out the original frame VIN stamp for posterity. How much was he asking for it, back then? Dan
I am with Nick, just needs a new rear clip. Get the sawzall out and cut two cars in half and put them back together again!
