Blows me away!! I would have figured the car would go at parts car price. Not a lot to work with there. Any of you guys that do this type of work have a wild estimate on to cost of restoring this car? 4 times what it will be worth when it's done?
Probably 60K and 3 years to fix after 1 year and 20K and not looking much differant it would be back on the BAY.
He bid it up to 12,200 and waited for someone to bid higher. Good thing he wasn't high bidder.:dollar:
Maybe the buyer saws that stage 1 carb sell for over 5k a few years ago and thinks he can make it rich selling all the parts uzzled:
We will be seeing an original numbers matching '69 Stage 1 4 sp convertible running through the BJ auction within the next year. Check those frame numbers and date codes before you buy:laugh:
Not a bad guess! I'm going to say back on the 'bay in 14 months. The Stage 1 car's condition will be the same but the auction will carry a reserve of 30k, only this time the auction will include a 1969 Skylark convertible in good condition. New carpeting and a "correct" set of "restoration" rivits will be included with the car if it meets reserve. Seem's like a lot to pay for what looks to be a car that needs a board to keep its shape...
As I am sure ALL of us know we will see this car again... 446679H336685 Factory white exterior, black interior, black top car. Window sticker pic'ed below.
I know who got it........it was not me....cant say at this time.......that was my buddies and he didnt bid it up...if it didnt sell he would have held on to it for another 16 years thats how he is...but he has a few more 69 GS 400s.....Steve
It will be restored by August and ready for Barret Jackson..... I didnt say what year.:spank: :spank: :spank: Tony
