So, I sent a BEAUTIFUL, rust/ rot/damage free 1969 GS bumper from a low mileage, south Texas car to be rechromed. Not a SPECK of a flake or rust on the backside. SEVEN MONTHS later, this shows up on my door step. :af: 'Oh, that's your bumper. When you sand blast something, it takes away some metal'...ou:
What the hell was he sandblasting with? pea stone? That's painful to look at. So sorry to see that George.
Going out on a limb here perhaps, but if the bumper you sent out is as you described, then I would venture to say what you got in return is NOT YOUR BUMPER! Who is responsible for this travesty ?
Not on this terminal. However, the bumper WAS spotless! Again, I KNOW he sold it. I used this guy after a long talk over the phone AND seeing the quality of the other bumpers he has done. I felt comfortable using him. After 3+ months of round and round, I began to do research on him and found out he was a scam artist, thief, etc. :spank:
Regardless of the fact he sold your core and pulled this one from the bottom of a lake...his chrome job sucked also!!! Sorry guy. Too many scam artist out there, especially in this economy.
George I'm sorry to see this man. How even a scam artist can wrap that up and ship it as a "finished product" blows my mind. That's like something right out of one of my nightmares. Umm, time to hear who it was? Oh, and why was it 7 months!?!? With work like that he should be able to pump out hundreds per day!
Sorry to see this happen to you, this is why in the past I have punched my initials into the backside before sending them out... Ron
Oh great! I literally just dropped my bumpers off at the local plater this morning. Now that I've seen this horror story, I'm gonna be worried for the next few weeks until I get mine back!
That is no Texas bumper for sure. That is just a joke. I feel sorry for you. I also use engraver or punch some identifier in stuff to be sure I get mine back. I also think you should tell who the vendor/company is to warns ours to be leery to say the least. Go after him ...you really have nothing to lose at this point !! Good luck Dave
I will list ALL of his business names and alias's (sp?) after I work this out over the next week. Some of you have seen this person selling bumpers at swap meets, etc in a WHITE VAN out of California. Again, more to follow...
