Nice work! I've never taken an Auto tranny apart before, but I have watched mine get stripped down to a bare case before, so I somewhat understand the difficulty in rebuilding one.

un believable... i cant rememebr how the crossmember goes in the frame:Dou: i think it goes flat side down with the U part facing the rear housing where the mount would sit in once back on trans but im not positive. it will actually work either way just make the trans sit way up higher if i put the flat side up.
anyone out there got a 62 invicta with a dynaflow that knows for sure?
my chasis book dont really go in depth on the crossmember just shows it is there ...
    thanks

cant wait to get the seats and doorpanels back from the shop im stoked about seeein her all prettied up
crossin my fingers i did the trans right ugggh i think its good tho everything seems good and clean all the gaskets etc good so shouldnt be a problem. i have about 4 BB spots on the windshield :ball: friggin kids with too much time on their hands where i bought the car... not there when i bought it... there when i got it at the house :Dou: ahh well. debating on tryin to get the 40buck patch deal from the glass place versus a 500.00 windshield... plus a seal and stuff so idk... might get the patches and see how that works for now. i think the bank is starting to get agitated with me (aka wifey poo)

\figure i should ask already... got all the guts out of the doors right.... well i see lots of thaqt fuzz stitched stuff in the channels is gonezilla... assuming that just glues in there i have new from CARS... and the tracks are all dry so im goin to run em thru the parts washer and re lube everything with the white chasis lube i got from gm eons ago looks like the same thing...
i need to know how hard it is to find the front chrome piece that is liek right under the wing on the RH side??? seen a chrome door trim kit on ebay for an electra/lesabre/wildcat but i dont see this piece im talkin about... not sure if its the right ones anyyhhow but ... this one is like uneven or a tear drop kind of shape... drapes over the outer skin of the door metal if door is shut the one commin down from the roof rail meets it.. any idea where i can find one of these? mine had a rusted out screw in it and the piece was cracked...
also have to find those big fat headed screws for the chrome piece on the edge of the windshield... from roofrail down to the front edge of door.(where the other piece is bad) 3 rotted screws ...
something leaks there obviously is that from the roofrail W/S ??

i am buying all new weatherstripping... front and rear doors roofrail trunk.. and the fillers and drain hole deals also.
cant find the cowl to hood weatherstrip wish i could mine is dry rotted bad..
ok so enough of my novel lol sry bout the long post... just get in from garage and im like goin a million miles n hour on stuff to do

thanks Top :TU: behind the wheel... oh man i cant friggin wait:laugh:

Very cool! Your's must be a pretty early build '62. Mine wasn't built until June of '62, and wasn't purchased until almost the year.

workin on the window regulators tonight...

i cannot believe the windows actually went up and down as easy as they did:Dou: the channels had almost non existant fuzzy hair stuff in them and the other tracks were all dry and stickey it was unreal the difference.

i washed one in the parts washer and the paint actually came off too so i just went with it and sprayed it down with that rust killer paint (cant hurt right) and relubed up everything .. i even got inside the actual gear and tooth witha pipe cleaner to get all the old gunk out b4 shooting new inside
just have 3 more to go ugggh.

one pic has ?? pointing to the one window channel where this 3 1/2" thing is rivited to the flat plate.. it has like a longer hair than the new channel fuzz i bought so im not sure what that is/// i need to find these tho because the rubber is dryrotted to the point of falling apart and the plaastic on the one is worn into the rivit. not sure how i lucked out and dont have a gouge in my glass but woohoo me right.

any idea where these are to be had?? and what they are called? i assume i jsut get blind rivits to reattach new ones on but i gotta find them.
also.... what do i use to hold the new channel mohair inside the channel just a spray adhesive like i use on my air sanding pads or they have something special for this or???

same with attaching my jute to the foam inside ... what do i use for adhesive there also??

the window sweeps..... are totally worthless cracked broken plastic pad things worn into on most of them etc etc etc.... i seen they have the 48" sweepers on CARS (2) assuming i get 2 48" pieces and i just cut them to le3ngth and drill holes for the rivits on those plastic things too right?
oh so where do i find those plastic things and what are they called

    enjoy the pics
keep the help and comments commin everyone
    thanks again

I think you've got the right stuff. That's what mine looks like. And, I'm starting to need some new, also. Mine is going on 10 years old.
$12 seems a fair price. Where, did you get that?

    UPDATE

well the folks at CARS INC came thru in record time... originally told me 4months to get my sweeper kit made from my originals.... took them about 2 weeks:TU: should have everything to get the glass back in the doors monday or tuesday
only costed 108 plus shipping actually less than the sweeper kits they already have in bulk supply i was totally shocked!!!

the friggin sediment bowl leaked like a fire hydrant in july so im replacing the filter and gasket. mine dont have a spring in there not sure if its supposed to or not... but well see what happens with a new gasket and filter... started up nice n easy after the repaint etc so im happy. no valve noise or nothing like it had b4 so must have helped tearing down the rocker shafts and cleaning them up (thanks again Doc :TU: )

should have more pics for everyone next week :bglasses:

There is no spring in the sediment bowl. The filter should have a flange on top of it (which also acts as the gasket) that holds it in place.
