Hi Mike. trying to find the right wheel can be like trying to find the right woman.. So many different styles, sizes and finishes to choose from. But One thing is for sure, when you get the right fit, it'll enhance your ride.... I like em~! Dan C.
Its kinda funny that I started this thread, made up my mind on some 17's/18's, and then ran across these and couldnt pass them up!!o No: 15x10's!!! Go figure... (I still might get some 17/18's for when the mood strikes though:TU: )
Just got the car back and thru on the 18's in the front and 20's in the back. I haven't installed the air bags yet but I will take pictures when it is done. Tell me what you guys think of the hood stripes too. Hopefully we get some more Pro Touring Buicks on this site.
Thanks Shawn. Yea I wanted the GSX Prototype stripes to look mean with the Gunmetal grey stripes and red pin stripe to go with the wheels. I am really happy with the end result. Can't wait to get it lowered now because it is sitting to high. I'll take more pics when its done and the motor is in.
Here is my 71 with 18's. I got sidetracked on some other projects but the Skylark is back getting worked on again. I just got the tubular a-arms on, four wheel disc brakes on, rear suspension control arms on. I have shockwaves for it but I think I am going to sell them and put on coil overs. Also, I have a narrowed rear end which will allow me to put on 335mm wide tires in the rear once I mini tub it so I will probably be selling these wheels. I can't remember the specs on them but I will get them. The rear tires are 295 wide. I will get the rims width and backspacing. The wheels are Raceline GTII two piece custom wheels. The tires are brand new Goodyears with less than 15 miles on them. I paid a little over $3500 for the setup and it has less than 15 miles on it. I will give someone a great deal though if they want them or maybe trade for some Buick parts. The pictures are when the car had completely stock suspension, brakes, etc. As you can tell, the front needed to be lowered a little.
In no hurry, but I may interested in taking those off your hands if you end up going the coil over route? I was on my way to a mini-tub but after doing all the measuring decided against it. The minimal gain and the effort to channel the frame was not worth it.The only way to go really fat was to z the frame and the car is too clean and solid to do that at this moment.
I'm planning on doing "Pro-Touring" to my '71 Centurion over the winter. Full suspension work, dropping it about 1- 2", wheel Vintiques sells the Buick Rallys 5 on 5 bolt that are a bit "deeper", gonna go 17X9.5 in the rear and 17X8 in front. DB Tires sells the NITTO tires I want with the small 5/8 redline on the tires, Coil overs, sway bars, the works, etc...! Already installed a 12:1 quick ratio steering box and pump...what a BIG difference!! once that's done, LOL, headers, 3 inch 3 chamber flowmaster dual exhaust. I think it'll take 1-2 years to get it where I want it. Then theres engine, and rear and tranny work! it's never ending!
i know this is not a buick but a chevelle.....this is my wifes car with 2" dropped spindles and rear springs....i opted for a 15"x8" wide wheel....it gives that low to the ground touring look without too much aluminum showing and the taller tires do add to the ride comfort
she picked the colors and the options [power windows, stereo. interior style fabrics and colors.....the only thing she did not get is the big block i did not feel like driving her around when she would have lost her license
you should be able to fit a 335-35 with the right backspace with no tub/frame notch aslong as you have a 11 wide or skinnier rim 12/13 width rims would require about an inch frame notch
