Parting out the Riv. The A/C system is already gone. Everything else is up for grabs. It's a New England car so rust is an issue pretty much everywhere. Drive train is unknown condition as I have never heard it run but it is a TA code motor.
what is the condition of the 2 kick panels? do you have color code? are they the same as 75 electra? thanks
Kick panels seem to be in good shape. This is the drivers side. Passenger side is similar. The carpet is coming unglued a bit but no cracks or scratches in plastic. I think the color is "Sandalwood" but not 100% sure. As to what else they fit, I have no idea.
The one in the car has some cracks, mainly in the speaker grille sections. I have another that is in slightly better shape with only one small rip just to the left of the "Riviera" script on the passenger side. The axle remains to be seen. I'm still trying to get the cover off to find out exactly what it is.
I see saddle seats and dash and kick panels , only one code for saddle in 71 so its should be custom interior

A45 686 Vinyl Notchback Saddle

ppg ditzler paint code 234 dupont lucite code 9812L for more code trims color info http://boattail-riviera-by-buick.com/71/COLORS%20TRIMS/index_gallery.php?sfpg=Kno3MSBEaXR6bGVyIFBQRyBDaGFydC5qcGcqKmltYWdlZm9ybSoqOGFhOGRmMWE5ZjcyMGJmZTg5YThlNzZiNTliNmNkY2M paint code 55 F

55 G Cornet Gold New for 1971 color Avail. all models except skylark

F is dark brown vinyl top.
Engine is sold. If anyone wants anything, please let me know. I can't keep it but I sure don't want to scrap parts others might need.
Just my luck! I was in New Bedford all last week and flew out of Green in Providence/Warwick. We could have pulled the engine and then I could have loaded it as checked baggage. Southwest wouldn't even have noticed.
I didn't. I did the thing where you jack it up and see if the wheels spin together or opposite each other to see if it was a posi and the wheels spun opposite. If you'd really like me to, I can make another effort to pull the cover but there are three bolts that are pretty gnarly and might take some time to get out.
Jeff, No need to pull that cover, based on that operation that rear end is a posi. I used the same test on two other full-size Buicks with posi rear ends. Should be a 3.42 but no guarantee until you count the teeth on the pinion and rear gear. FYI
Even if is not a posi, I would be interested in the gears. You can consider them sold if their ratio is 3.42 or especially 3.23. Many GS Rivs had this ratio.
Just got the cover off today. Numbers on the ring gear read 41B15 GM PY 262 2 which I believe indicates 2.73 gears. And it is definitely an open rear. Still got parts left. If anyone needs anything, let me know!
