That's pretty deep for a guy who has never raced or attended an event, you should attend an event. I seen a bench clearing brawl on TV between two professional base ball teams, not just a few words here and there, they were throwing punches, not on this site with only 100 people watching were talking millions of people. Did i cancel the plans with my sons to go to a game, no... We went to a game and had an experience that will last a life time. I could have said i want nothing to do with individuals who conduct themselfs in such a matter, 100 times worse the what your reading here btw.. My guess is if you decided to show you'll have a great time. The little bit of bickering going on here is nothing unless you live a very sheilded life, very. Just saying..
Sriley, if you have never been to this board, then you need to realize that this is a discussion board, it is too bad that the top few cars continue to play games and try to be the big dog( no pun intended terry) the event is the best car show at the drag strip combined with the best parking lot party in town. Nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade, it is all in good fun and keeps some people interested in the event. If these threads bother you, then you should stay home, but give it a try, you will like it.
I wouldn't worry about a few comments on this forum. 80- 90% of the people that attend the race don't even visit here. Why don't you come to the race and see how it is for yourself rather than getting your impression from this thread.
I would just like to say Congrats to Dave. I've been a fan (and built one) of these types of cars for 1 simple reason - Imagine pulling up to the staging lane in your Stock Appearing Car and Racing the guy that trailered in his all out Race Car chuck full of Aftermarket Parts and beating him. This guys got headers, slicks, big carb, big hood scoop, big cubes etc....... and all of those stickers that make it even faster - and your showroom "stocker" just whooped him! That to me is funner than any other Race Scenario I've been in. I've only had my car to the Track twice so far and have only ran some high 12's (With a TRULY STOCK NON Stage motor other than a cam swap - 380HP) and the attention the car received was unreal. I can't wait to have enough money to put my dream motor together and run even quicker while still appearing stock. It's only gonna get faster and I'm already having fun. Bottom line here is these guys are doing something pretty amazing with these cars and I would assume are having a blast doing it. So congrats again to Dave. The car is Beautiful. No Drama here - just having fun racing my "underdog" Buford!
Look I've sit back long enough so Dave went an 10.85 and he told you he was running Q 16 fuel and slick fast tires big deal get over it also we were on the East Coast big F ing deal so in the finals Julie without Q 16 and a point below NHRA compression Julie went at 11.03 to Dave's 11.07 I know Dave is a big boy and he can fight his own battles but enough is enough you want to pile on somebody come pile on me at Staton I'll be in the back in a big white truck and trailer but please leave him alone.
Sorry Mr. Paul GS but I only have $30,000 in Julie's car and that includes buying the car and painting it. 80,000 where do you get your figures?
Pete I heard something of that nature. Just in case there will be some in the Black trailer as well! See ya guys tomorrow night
sriley: A word to the wise... do not live your life experiences via the web, or we'll all have to chip in and buy you this shirt: Back to real discussions based on real people and experiences. Dave... CONGRATULATIONS on an amazing run with your Bee and I can't wait to see it go in person this Saturday! Actually, I can't wait to see everyone's gorgeous cars run this weekend! The weather is looking outstanding. Now I just hope Stanton has the tracked prepped properly to accommodate you guys! (and gals) I won't have my car there, but I'll be doing my best to photo-document the event from the line and the tower with Diego.
Haha, thats actually pretty funny because i use the phrase on that shirt all the time due to the fact im usually the skeptic when it comes to internet content. Guess somebody finally flipped it around on me, well played sir. And for what its worth, i am a real person.... I wont make it to this race this year, but you all are correct, i should go and see whats up in person before condemning the entire thing based on a little internet bickering. Chalk it up to a bad day i guess. Hopefully next time i can attend as i am really interested in this type of racing.
How could you ever put 35 thousand in a pure stock engine think about it, oh yea that's right there is a million dollar Hemi I've been hit in the head lots of times but still don't have 35 in pure stock engine but that is what i sold the car for, When I got here I had Dan whistle Juile corvette the compression was only 12.7 also we put it up in the air on the lift so he could look underneath it also took him for aride in it so he could check the converter stall speed.
