Seats are all done, and managed to finally get the new black vinyl on the roof. Next up is getting the folding top re-built and re-sewn to match the new vinyl top. Pictures are at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=51594&l=b09445fa14&id=1633968381 .
Great looking ride! The seats came out great.....the whole car came out great! I have been looking for 71 front bench seat covers, with the armrest in brown. I can't find the correct material to match the rear. It's perforated vinyl. Tell me, what is that tire and wheel size please?
Wheels are factory 15"x7" ('71 & up). Rear tires are 275/60-15 and fronts are 245/60-15. Thanks for the compliments!
Awesome job! Im working on a Suncoupe GS clone at the moment. Mine started out with just a body shell and a severely twisted frame. A totally roached out 1970 GS 455 and a 1971 GS 350 donated their chassis, posi, 4 speed and other needs and 3 years later a GS suncoupe clone is now in the final body work stage. Paint shooting should start fairly soon. My question to you is how did you do the roof? My sunroof is complete but the original vinyl turned rock hard and I cant find a replacement anywhere. My guess is to find a good trim shop and give them the remnants of the original and have them fab one.
You'll need to find a good upholstery shop and get the top material (without the felt backing!) from SMS. Make sure you specify you need the 52" wide Levant grain stuff. Definetly give the shop whats left of your original top to use as a pattern. If you need the tension wire, I've got a line on the correct stuff. If you need the spring at the back, good luck as the only source I know of is used originals. The tension wire guides at each corner can also be a problem, but I'm working (slowly) on getting some reproductions made up. Other than that.....good luck. Staged70 should chime in here at this point with more info.
