John The 3 spoke Rally steering wheel was an optional steering wheel upgrade on any 75 Buick Century or Gran Sport. That wheel is original to this car as are the 15 x7 WP code Buick Chrome rally wheels all dated May 23 1975 one month before build date of car.
Mark, Was that the HP for the 350? I had forgotten. No wonder it didn't go anywhere. I also cant imagine a 231/V6 Gran Sport. What a shame from it's beginnings to its Height in '70. But it happened to everyone. Shame. PONCH
Yes, in 1975, the Buick 350 4bbl. was rated at 165 hp. and 265 lb ft The 455 was rated at 205 hp. and 365 lb ft. I had the 350 4bbl in my 75 LeSabre convertible with a 3.08 gear, it actually ran very well pulling around near 5000 lb. I also had a 75 Electra Limited 4 dr with the 455 and a 2.56 rear, WHAT A DOG! Yeah it was smooth, and you could feel a difference in torque, but even after I swapped a 3.08 posi rear in it for towing it didn't make a huge difference:eek2: The ****ty 7.6 to compression didn't help, LOL
Great looking car and interesting thread. :TU: Always liked the "Colonnade" Body from all GM divisions.
Thanks Kerry That is a 75 Century Gran Sport sans stripes. Reformulated400 yes, I like the Colonade body style as well:TU:
Sorry I don't have better pics of the blue car it is not mine and it's stuffed in between a bunch of other cars
The blue car is very optioned with power buckets power Windows tilt ,cruise, rally wheel rear defog , push button trunk opener in globe box and I'm pretty sure remote passenger mirror and not the original mortar it had a 455 bored to I think 468 can't remember been a couple years since I've seen it. Has stage 1 heads and switch pitch tranny. the red car has manual everything not sure if it has tilt someone changed the column it has a/c as far as I can see as an option not sure if it had 2bbl or 4bbl option bought it with no motor or trans it doesn't have posi but is a rust free Az car has the best looking floor boards I personally have ever seen on one of these Buick body styles
Sorry about some of the bad spelling I'm posting from a cell phone and didn't look at the spelling until after I posted it
@ rich johns that 73 Buick Craig's list add is where I got the. Red car from that 73 is really rough I was goin to buy it untill I saw it in person there is really nothing salvageable except motor, grill and glass
Not trying to hijack Rich's thread at all but........ All of use collonade lovers have to stick together to find these rare cars and parts!:gp:
I could use some parts off of it too! Love that ram air hood on the blue one, I wish they kept that as part of the gran sport package.
Yeah the ram air scoops are nice on there I'm thinking about using the ones off a 69 gs on a 73 I have. And putting a set like the blue one in my red car
