http://www.ebay.ca/itm/1975-Buick-C...m58d0a7bc90:m:mNmu8j-ExnecD-ItOkIWjKg&vxp=mtr All completed,Phoenix Graphics has used my tracing templates and photos of my 1975 Gran Sport to reproduce stripes. Now these end of the line 1975 Gran Sports can be restored correctly.
Yes I agree, considering the extensive stripes all over the body on a 75 Gran Sport it is a good deal.
:TU: That is a great car you got there thank you for those pics.Years ago, around 1990 or so I went to look at a 1973 Century Grand Sport.Turned out it was a Stage 1 4 speed but it was beat. All 4 fenders rotted through and you could see the ground through the floor. In that year I was sure that $1200 was too much but either way it was too big a restoration for me then and now.
Maybe 2002 or so,There was a 3 on the tree 77 Regal for sale in north NJ for a long time in Special Interest cars weekly . I actually went to look at it but the owner wasn't home and I missed out.I knew if I went back that I would buy it and I couldn't pull the trigger so I never went back.
Yep, only 3 cars in 1975 Came with t-tops. The 75 Hurst/Olds Cutlass the 75 Corvette and the 75 Buick Century Indy Pace car. I still kick myself for getting rid of mine. One reason I love the "Big" Gran Sports. In 83 I could have bought a 74 Gran Sport Stage 1 car, Red with White Bucket interior. In Ashville, NC for $800. My folks didn't have the $$$ to loan me. I should have asked my Grandpa. I would still have it. As Grandpa only drove Buicks. He even was there when I looked at it. Tim
I believe gm switched steel suppliers in "73" making them hard to find and parts even tougher from rust outs
Rich, Here is a low mileage (claimed 19K) 1975 Century "Special" with essentially the same style exterior striping as your Gran Sport, but in this case, there is the word "Special" where your car has the "Gran Sport" stickers/script. Note that it does not have the front/lower side stripe decal like your Gran Sport. I actually suspect that the script "Special" onn the right edge of the trunk lid over the decal is probably a chrome emblem rather than a decal. Very nice car. A friend of mine had a brown one with the gold stripe package years ago. I didn't see anything about a respray, but in a couple pics, I saw paint on the rocker molding.
The Gran Sport D98 Stripe Decals were optional on a regular base Special or Century Coupe in 1975. However, this did not make the car a true Gran Sport just a Century with extra cost stripes. Cool car with super low mileage in amazing original condition.
Here are some pics of an original paint and stripes 1975 Buick Century. This car has factory D98 optional stripes but it not a Gran Sport.
