Since this will probably be a long process, I figure I should start the hunt now.... Looking for a 1970 GS big block, 4 speed car (must be an original 4sp, not a conversion). I'm indifferent to a stage vs. non-stage car. Must be blue or green (Stratomist, Diplomat, Seamist, Aquamist, Sherwood are all fine) and not concerned with options outside of that. AC would be a bonus, but I'd be just as happy with easier spark plug changes on a non-AC car. Would ultimately love a double or triple blue car with a bench and poverty caps, but I doubt anyone has started the used-car factory that would be needed to produce one As cool as they are, not interested in a 3 speed car. I'm looking for anything from a project that needs a full resto, to a driver, to an older amateur resto. Not really looking to push into the 50k+ range, although for the right car I may consider it. Contact me here, or just email direct at buickgs455@gmail.com Thanks in advance!
damn you are picky, lol! What about this one? Not sure if it sold or not. Is a factory green car. http://www.ebay.com/itm/251790134552?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Haha well I only want to buy once! Interesting, that looks very similar to the 3 speed car that's in the same area. I may find out what the story is with this one, although I bet it's going to need a bunch of body work with that vinyl top.
The guy who owns the 3 speed car (Rick) recently bought a restored convert from the guy who owns this black one, and that is why he is selling. The black one was recently purchased from a collector in MD who also sold the current owner 2 stage 1's and a GS350. Not sure about the condition of the car under the vinyl. Engine was built for pure stock and supposedly ran high 11's.....
Chris, is the owner of this black 4speed car on the board? I sent him a note, I'd like to find out which green it was originally. And you're saying this car was built for pure stock?
Chris, Last time I looked, Rich Johns in Canada had a Diplomat Blue '70 Stage 1 4 speed. As I remember, it had a blue interior as well. Think it was going for $14,000. Didn't look bad at all for the money. I have been to the website recently, but it currently under construction. His email is rich@purestockauto.com Good luck! Rich
Thank you, Rich. I have looked into that car, unfortunately it's not a factory 4sp car (it is still an Auto). At least for right now, if I'm going to take on a full project, I want it to be factory optioned the way I'd like. I appreciate the heads up though, the search goes on!
Chris, If you find the right car but it's missing some of the factory 4 speed parts, let me know. I have been thinking about selling off some of my spare parts and can deliver to Temple in May.
Chris, maybe a little long away but a factory 4 speed 350 now with a stock appearing 464, frame off around 10 years ago and max 5000 miles since, needs nothing. Triple sherwood green, org a delete car, now with PS and PDB., bench seat. Let me know if you want to hear more. Around $2500 for shipping back to US.
Chris, There is a Sherwood green, green top, white int, 4spd, stage 1, for sale listed by a board member in PA. Looks as if its all there, and in your price range. Good luck in your search. Robert
Still looking for the right car. Factory Green or Blue 4 speed car, with green, white or blue interior...
