Goen Trans-Brake this year! Hit Lotto for 500, Guys got one out of a 69 GS, trans and stall for 1000!!!! He said pay the rest with payments!!!! Will be picking it tonight! After talking to ATI and another torque convertor company they said the convertor can't change for not foot braking high as it did without loosing ET so instead of fighting them I will just go brake. I hope I don't flip over!!!!
Not sure yet but may have dodged a bullet .Pulled the valve covers and looked around .#5 the pushrods were not touching the adjusters at all .Looked and the end stand retaining bolt was somehow backed off a bunch. Tightened it up and things look fine. Will check it all out pull the pushrods check for straightness and put it all back together and readjust the valves . I will know better by mid week but my spirits are way up. It needed the valve adjusted anyway they haven't been done since it went on the dyno.:3gears:
Took my 1965 Skylark to the track. I did not do all that well with the launch. Went 11.6X @120mph. 60' was 1.7x. Car is more setup for pro touring than drag racing.
um, no. I'm probably in the same boat as Tim. the W-31 chassis resto has slowed as I await more items back from plating. but the body is in primer and is getting blocked. the GT-37 had a few things taken off and they also got plated with the first batch of W-31 items. They are back and look BE-U-TEE-FULL. Now I just need to put them back on the car. I still need to do a few things to the car, but see below Have been spending the last week or so working on the truck. new idler tensioner pulley, new idler arm, solder the broken wires for tow/haul mode in the steering column, FINALLY replace those damn rusted brake lines, replace all the brake hoses, replaced the bleeders on the front calipers (they were rusted and started to round when I was bleeding brakes). Still need to replace the sending unit and the pitman arm.
Had a good day at Milan today. Set personal bests in 60 ft, ET and MPH (2.065, 13.35 and 106.82 MPH)! On to the next thing to try.
That's a nice improvement .Work on that 60 ft and you will see 12's with a high 1.80's 60 ft. :3gears:
That would require me to pull the engine again an bump up the compression. Not gonna happen right now, trans is coming out again to inspect the clutch. I have a more limited budget this season, a big chunk went to Uncle Sam and the State of Michigan.
