As a pilot, I cannot help but comment that if you want to make a tower totally disappear in the haze, paint it white and international orange. I would normally see the black cables before I saw the tower. I wish they would paint the damn things black.
Spending 21 years on Air Force cargo planes as a crew member I am still leary of heights and would not climb up like that.
I build houses for A living, work on scaffolding and man lifts very high, you would never get me up that high .
This is about as high as I go now, really isn't much need to go higher where I work. Have been much higher, painted Columbo Yogurts giant tanks, about 70'. Also painted the BP tower off of rt213 in Methuen Ma. several times, bout 150'. Used to be fearless, not so much no more. Jim
My buddy Frank was a high tower guy.1500ft you do not survive but 80 ft if you survive that one is going to hurt ouch took the fall but lost his rating .Frank is a nice guy and we want to keep him for a long time. He is also a hot rodder Just my 2 cents Alain
I'm just glad to see they have their safety helmets on so they don't get a head injury on the fall down!
So the guy is double hooking all the way up which is good. I noticed his hard hat didn’t have a chin strap. It technically should have a chin strap when climbing, so it won’t fall off and hit someone below him.
