hi Larry, thanks for the quick response but the thread you attached seems more for the nut. i see they talk about knurls and stuff and i dont know what the right size is. more importantly i do not know the the length. does the length matter or do i simply cut them down to size
Are you looking the correct style lug nut or just the size? From memory 7/16" diameter, 20 threads per inch is the size. I do not think anyone makes the cap type exactly like the factory made them. CARS had some close ones made I think.
You should be able to get the right length. There was a thread about this, and they went back and forth about the knurl. I can’t believe this is such a problem.
Depending on the application the factory part numbers for actual studs are in Buick Parts Group 5.812.
Are you replacing the studs or the nut?? If your replacing the studs, exactly how many are you replacing? Last time I needed a wheel stud, I just went to the local parts house and asked for one
"Lugs" mean lug nuts. No need to know the knurl or anything. Nuts are 7/16" right hand thread The studs are what the lug nuts thread onto. Its highly unusual to replace all the studs. They dont go bad unless you strip one
studs, thanks for the correction. I remember helping a fried change a tire on his LeMans an we broke 2 studs trying to loosen the nut. some of mine are stripped. I figure if i'm spending money redoing bakes and suspension, for the low cost, why leave 50 year parts around.
