But most of their parts are incorrect looking, and fitting...So,that's not a good thing..Why not just make the right parts instead?
I've often wondered that myself.......It is weird, isn't it? You give them something to copy, and they still can't get it right.
A lot of these places don’t pay enough to get people who really know the difference. (Or who to ask for input!). Or, they know it’s wrong, but are counting on the casual catolog customers not the restorers. Patrick
You guys are condemning them before you even see the part. It is possible they are learning, not likely, but possible. It looks like a 70 front bumper from the back. That is one year, it won't work with the 71 or 72 headlight bezels.
They put ketchup on thier fries, least we do DownUnder. I've fitted plenty of Taiwanese car panels over the years, they never fit properly. The body mans skill is in making them fit, just watch I don't cut myself on edges cos they're thin. Bumpers would be crap chrome that wouldn't last, in my experience go with the best local chromer you can find, the hot rod boys generally know who does the best stuff. My 2c worth.....pass the ketchup thx
That's because most of us feel like Charlie Brown hearing Lucy say she's really going to hold the football for him this time.
The royale with cheese and fry question is a movie reference .................You know why they call it a royale with cheese?
Cos of the metric system of course. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the week through the valley of darkness.
Anyway it's Australia Day here so I'm off for a ride on my American Victory! With metric fasteners. Pass the mayo
The picture with the sticker (affixed to the inside of the bumper) shows the print "R DOT" which means that it is a reproduction part, not OEM. US DOT requires these stickers on ALL non-OEM (or Aftermarket) parts sold for automobile parts. OEM bumpers which are "rebuilt" or rechromed do not have to disclose this "R DOT" status.
To be honest,I have bought a 70 GS grille back when they were selling (09) as well as a woodgrain 70 Shifter handle. Both were ill fitting and bad reproduction parts. When I returned the grille,I got accused of messing it up. As soon as it left the box,it looked wonky..I paid to ship it back and got hosed on the restocking fee. I paid by credit card and got most of the fee returned. When speaking to the sales representatives, they talk down to you and make you feel like it was your fault..So yes, I am condemning them.Even the bumper picture appears to be a 70 and not a 71-72 unit..
