The bolt in dual brake / fuel clips are yellow . Same with trans cooler line clip . The rear crossmem one is strato mist blue . The front crossmember ones are green .
I just found my NOS set of the fuel line clips part number 1380949. All were sealed in GM packages and I took this one out for pictures. Now we all know how NOS. Parts change and I don’t know when these were made or if platings changed but these appear green/yellowish. I’m not putting them on the Buick since they were already installed when I found these but I am using on the GTO when I get there.
Thank you for sharing those photo's. (Interesting) Does anyone know if the NOS clips like shown above vary in color compared to originals???? I was under the assumption they were more "yellow" but I'm not positive. I'd like to know though for future restorations and correctness!!
Originals certainly were not army green like that NOS. Originals were very yellow like Don’s. I bought a package of those transmission line clips NOS 1380949 years back which were yellow too on original cars but the NOS were silver so we all know that does us no good.
Those 1380949 are not Buick fuel line clips. Were they fuel on Pontiac? That was only used one place on a Buick. On top of the frame on the passenger side of the engine compartment. They held the auto transmission lines in place and were even installed on manual transmission cars. Buick fuel brake line clips were held on with a screw. The Buick fuel/Brake line clips were bigger and they were all yellow to add to the confusion.
You can see later NOS 1380949 transmission line clips were silver. Broken original in picture someone painted black but remnants of original yellow is on the edge.
These are original Bigger Buick fuel/brake line clips. They are not available anywhere I know of. The one on left I painted yellow like it should be. Originals were probably a dull yellow but good luck finding dull yellow paint. The one on right someone painted black but you can see yellow coming through on the back.
Never removed and once sprayed with undercoat. Cleaned this month It is a dull /flat yellow as David stated.
1380949 Transmission cooler line clips are still available from GM if anyone is interested. $1.02 each from GM parts direct. Unfortunately Buick’s only use one. Fuel/Brake line clips are 1233420. Good luck finding those.
TPP is now reproducing the Dual Brake/Fuel Line Clips. I have them in stock and they look good although not the right color. I'm working on a complete Brake / Fuel Line kit that will be correct for our Buick's. For now you guys can see a bunch of Clips, Clamps & Brackets that are available for our cars via the Aftermarket world on my website. They're all located on ONE page for simplicity. Click Here to view my Clips, Clamps & Brackets Page I'm also working on a "Write up" (Comparison) on TPP clips and will show them next to some factory ones so everyone can see them side by side. For now, here is a couple pics provided by TPP of there reproduction clips >
That is good someone finally made those with the plug in tab. Originals are getting brittle. The loops break off easy.
I was not saying they were Buick just same part number probably later made or plated differently. I agree they are yellow which is why I did not use them. Everyone always assume 70,s which is what this post is on but on 69 there were 5 1380949 and they were all the same and were not held in with screw but pushed in. They were at passenger side of frame and along frame rail. I attached a pic from manual. 70 must have been different.
How correct are these sheets from inline tube. I know it's for a 71 I'm just using these pics as a reference. thanks
