Sorry long time no posts. I got a new job that is taking a lot of my time. So since I don't have a pickup truck and I love gm a-bodies I took advantage of a nice lol trade and got this 1970 so camino 350/350. It needs a interior overhaul but runs fine. I 'll also do a disc brake conversion and I will finally build a chevy 350...lol.. At least I do top end kit + lumpy cam to wake it up. As well as 29.5/10.5 rear tires etc. The wife Actualy likes Caminos . So there goes my new " pickup"
I thought you would like this truck I am working on with a friend.. $200 truck, I donated the 6.0 and he is fabbing up the turbo kit.
Havent been on here for a long time. And i dont want to lie i had a lil lack of motivation to work on my buick. Further i was rather working on a 70' Elco that i got in a trade. I stuffed a 468 ci th 400 combo in it. I did all body and paintwork myself (1st time) . The 68 GS 350 CALIFORNIA TT is back on track. The TT. Runs and scares the **** out of my neighbours . I need to find a downpipe leak and fix it. Setup AFR and BOOSTgauge and get a Dyno tune. ( its race season so its too busy/expensive now.) The interior is comin together. Panels/ headliner are in. the Gto seats needs some wiring and get bolted in. The rear seats need to get custom fitted too. I built a nice shifter bracket/ mount for my b&m ratchet. ( love this things)
Work is killing me but i feel like i have to bring this thread back alive... so here is the status Car is running, sounds mean NEEDs a tune it rips the rear end at 3.5k rpm bad.... you got to hold on to it... I finialized the interior...04 GTO seats they needed some custom fitting but i had a smart moment and made it work...
Don't think anyone with the Burton Turbos have ever got it all fine tuned to a T. Check out the Turbo Buick site, maybe those boys have a dial in recipe that will work for you.
Thanks alot Guys sorry for not reporting for a while but i had several changes going on and live got in the way again. New Job, Sold and ought a new house and moved from expensive CALI to BIG TEXAS. what a transition. But i love it. So im planning to revitalize my Buick BUT i might disappoint you because i will convert the Buick back to N/A! Its time to do his and make it a reliable Streetcar that i can take to shows and drive. ( i have never thought i'd say this ) In order to do this i think i will move this to another forum section .. " High Tech for Old Iron"
Merry XMas everybody And merry Xmas to my 68' It only took 1+ years to get her finally into the shop for rework. Plan is to see if I have to pull the motor to redo - header leaks - turbo downpipe redo - possibly eliminate IC= simplify - SNIPER EFI + HYPERSPARK ign. - rebuild the th350 or swap for a 200r4( that needs to be build) My LS Lark turned out really decent and runs fine so I have this beauty now in the garage And dedicated the shop space to the 68. A lot to do but I think I have a plan. Ps: I possibly swap out the interior to the stock bench (needs skins) Further I consider a old school drag kinda look with 15" and big meats.
Well if Iwould plan to do that then I really dont have a reason anymore to not swap this 10:5:1 464 in it.
I was inspecting the motor and found a couple gaskets that I thought need to be replaced. The oilpan was leaking. A header/exhaust leak. Etc. I took the time to go through the engine and reassembled it with no mechanical issues found. I decided that I will get my th350 build for 700+ hp/to luckily I have a couple good trans builder options locally. I also scored some drag lies locally with 15x10, 6.5 BS. I mocked them up with a small spacer to clear the shock mount and inner frame. I think with a 1/2 in spacer I should be good... tight but good with a 28/10.5 I probably would have to find a equivalent street tire size. I will source a 15x4 draglite for the front to complete the oldskool look.
