All joking aside; years ago I bought one from Metro that I ended up sending back for quality issues. I now use one made for the Oldsmobubble. It's a little bigger at the bottom but generally a perfect fit.
That is a lower shift boot for a car with a console. Metro makes it. Quality is a little lacking but it fits and functions. It's not like your going to be staring at it though.
i think Mike Garrison has a couple NOS..they may have burned when his body shop did..but he was ordering them from GM they where still avail from GM just not too long ago...that boot is easy to find NOS..its called a seal at the floor..they average around 60 bux for NOS..
thanks guys, Interesting thats its for a car with a console, as my car did not come with a console [ that I know of]
I agree with Jason, that is for a consolette car. Was it screwed to the floor pan on top of the carpet or under the carpet when you removed it?
got some new info on my car tonight, After talking to the previous owner my car did not come with a consolette. The boot I posted was from a 70 GS455-4 speed that he parted out in the early 90`s. His plan was to put a consolette in the car, but then sold the car to me. Here`s the boot that came from my car. This is the same one that everyone has for sale, correct ?
Yes, That is the boot for a Buick without a console. The one that is reproduced is for an Oldsmobile, and is a little bigger at the bottom, where it folds over the carpet. Other then that they look the same. Duane
