https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Buick-GSX-/303583622321?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10 Is this the same one that has been discussed before on here? Does it belong to a board member?
Yes I believe it is, the tell-tale for me would be the damage to the roof paint on the passenger side between the rear glass and back glass, of which there is no picture of but I’m fairly certain there is only 1 original 33k mike 71 GSX.
I think it has, I remember the rocker trim missing. If you search the VIN you’ll find four sales from ‘13 to ‘19; low of $25k, high of $37.4 in ‘14. Sold last January for $35.2, then in June it was a no sale for $25k. The ‘13 listing describes it as good paint, shoddy attention to all the details. Patrick

People buying that car one after another that don't give a crap about the car just the money. Hate that about hobbies sometimes. Only about the money. So is there anything special about a GS or GSX 350?
It is a real GSX, and that’s very cool itself. It’s a good color, too. Bought right by a knowledgeable person (who could fix all its flaws) it could stand tall as a 350 car or be repowered with a 455 and be something to love and covet either way. It needs a loving forever home in the Buick community, not treated like a foster child by people who only want the money. Patrick
337 # is the total # of 1971 Buick GS hardtop 43437 Model # cars that were sold new in Canada in 1971. Since the WA5 GSX Ornamentation Package was on option on a 1971 GS hardtops, those cars are included in the 337 which is all 1971 GS 350 ,GS 455 and GS Stage 1's and GSX combined. GM of Canada kept detailed records on all GM cars built and or delivered new in Canada. More Trivia: Only 285, 44637 model # 1970 Buick GS Big Block hardtops were sold new in Canada in 1970. Again that is all 1970 Buick GS 455,GS Stage 1 and GSX hardtops combined. Back in 1970 they would have been so rare sight, you would have been lucky to see any of them once every 6 months.
Is a '71 car supposed to have a '72 rear bumper? Also, the dash woodgrain inserts don't all match. '72 air cleaner assembly. '70 master cylinder. Seems like it should have a ralleye clock. I have not seen a jack instruction decal like the one on this car before. Trunk light wire missing clips. Trunk not finished - no splatter paint. Black positive cable for the battery. Water pump should be red. Seller should post the build sheet.
This 1971 Cortez Gold GSX was sold by Forbes Motors in Kitchener Ontario and hour from where I am located. It is a real 1971 GSX 350 however,it has been incorrectly restored and has options added, so many things are incorrect.
The car has idiot lights, not gauges, so it will not have a rallye clock......and if it had a rallye steering wheel it should be Saddle not Black. It also should not have red line tires, they were not available on 71 a-body Buicks. Duane
Rich, were GSs and GSXs scattered around Canada, or was there a single or small number of dealers ‘in the know’ who got the majority? Reason I ask is how dealers like Grand Spaulding, Yenko or Galpin would get a bunch of something that’s scarce overall. When I grew up in north Georgia, we had a Ford dealer who bought so many Saleens we all thought they were common. Patrick
'71 bumpers did not have an emblem or rubber surrounding the tail lamps. The seller should post the build sheet.
Thank you so much for your knowledge. I love learning true information. So all 72's should have rubber around the taillights? Same lenses?
I'm not certain that all '72 rear bumpers had rubber surrounding the tail lamps. I think the lenses are different, though.
