This is the therapeutic results I obtained after making "Lemon" payments for a year. I think the tags are 1976 IIRC. What a POS! ws
"Sort of"... Actually a BRAND NEW spread bore Holley. Put it on and went for a ride. That was when the lemon fell off the tree. Within a mile that bastard developed a rod knock. After 16 months, 3 clutches, T-10 ball bearings spinning in the case and the best, was always getting flat tires. I went to Sears and bought 4 new G-70 GY's (shown) and in the morning 3 were flat. Oh and the speedo cable always sounded like 100 mice squeeling in the dash. Turned out to be the speedo head itself. Then there was the two gallons of water needed daily that just "vanished". It was possessed. What a heavily insured nightmare. Stage I, 4 speed, buckets, console delete, AC PS PDB PW Tilt, NO vinyl top. Pretty well loaded. Was told 1 of 16, 1 of 7 is plausible. 1973 was THE WORST transition model that ever helped take GM down! ws
Wow! I couldn't bring myself to cheat someone like that! On the other hand imagine what a good one like mine is worth.
Amen. That is the world's issue right now. People have no care. No conscious. You know that seller was dancing
Holy cow, someone is gonna be pissed when they thoroughly inspect that thing. The pictures look nice enough, but hearing the backstory, yikes....
I know my own answer. You throw mad cash because it is nothing but numbers. That 73 is a piece of poop. Clueless bidding idiot that does ZERO research says watch me win this baby...
There was a much nicer one not that long ago @ Mecum that the bidding didn't go much higher on. Mid $30's maybe.
It was 10-20 years ago. That car was for sale by Morrison Motors whose place of business was near the track. They offered it for a couple of years for as low as about 12K.
Total real example of an auction. You really don't know a damn thing about the car shined up in front of you. 31k for crap. Like was said by 72Stage1. Didn't do your homework. Maybe the buyer won't know better. How long until it's back up for sale?
I bought that car from Morrison and it is the one that just sold at Mecum. It was my first '73 before I was on this board or a Buick club member and before I met John Csordas. You are way behind on your info and keeping track of posts. Surprised you didn't remember I bought that car. Look it up here on the board. Pat Harmon at that time sent me all the posts and info he had on the car when I finally joined this forum. (Thanks again, Pat) I bought it in 2003. It wasn't in good shape then and I fixed it up to a good driver at least 3 times and put 45 to 50,000 miles on it since. ( Car has over 200,ooo miles on it, maybe 300,000. Rolled the speedo over to o0 five years ago.) Repainted it once four maybe five years ago. Paint job was a $2000 quickie from a friend who first fixed it up for me in 2003. See my previous post.
